You probably remember Aarti Sequeira from Seaon 6 of the Food Network's Next Food Network Star, where she won gold and got her own TV show. Now, the famed chef is starting a brand new program on the Cooking Channel, which airs each Friday at 9pm, called Taste in Translation. On her new show, Aarti explores the most popular dishes from around the world, as well as the history and culture behind them. From Thailand to the United States, Aarti gives viewers the chance to discover new flavors and recipes from coast to coast. We got to chat with Aarti all about her new show and some of her favorite dishes she got to try while filming.

Modern Cantonese restaurant Hakkasan, located conveniently just on the border of Times Square, is one of our favorite dining destinations, and now that they've revved up their menu and late night lounge, we can't help but sharing the good news. This highly-rated resto recently launched a prix fixe pre-theater menu for $38 that is available from 5:30-6:30 every day. The menu will include a choice of cocktail or glass of wine, along with choice of appetizer, main course, and a selection of scrumptious macarons for dessert. The menu offers three choices of appetizer, including their divine dim sum platter, as well as five options for your main course, featuring some of the restaurants signature dishes like their spicy prawn or stir-fry black pepper rib-eye. All main courses also come with pak choi and steamed jasmine rice or egg fried rice.

Last week, artist Steven Colucci debuted his new scarf collection, as well as "Sounds of Color" paintings at The National Arts Club in Gramercy Park. The exhibit was displayed alongside Andy Warhol sketches and was debuted while Shea serenaded guests with festive Christmas tunes. Colucci has been working with The American Cancer Society, as well as the Quogue Wildlife Refuge to raise awareness and funds during the holiday season, and therefore all proceeds from the event benefitted these two organizations.
French 75 (Courtesy of Spice Market)
1 oz. St. Germain
½ oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ oz. Plymouth Gin
1 ½ oz. Cava Dibon
Chill St. Germain, Lemon Juice and Plymouth Gin, strain into Champagne Flute, top with Cava Dibon, garnish with lemon twist. Enjoy!¾ oz. Cognac
½ oz. Cointreau¼ oz. Maraschino
¼ oz. Lemon juice4 oz. champagne
4 oz. MARTINI Moscato d’Asti
½ oz. of BACARDI Gold Rum
Dash of lemon juice
Rim the glass with cinnamon sugar. In a prepared champagne glass, place all ingredients. Stir once and serve.
Port of Mischief Punch 3 oz. Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
1 oz. port
2 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. simple syrup
1 oz. fresh lime juice
2 dashes (per serving) anise bitters 2 dashes (per serving) house bitters
Combine chilled ingredients in a punch bowl over one large block of ice. Garnish with lime wheels and freshly grated nutmeg. Serve with a ladle and small glass tea cups.
