Hornblower Cruises & Events will debut all new Saturday and Sunday cruises aboard the sustainable Hornblower Infinity on July 1st -- just in time for summer! Launching from Hornblower Landing on Pier 40, the two-hour brunch cruises board at 11am and sail from 12-2pm on Sundays, while the three-hour dining cruises sail Saturdays from 7-10pm with a 6pm boarding time.
Dining cruise goers have the option to choose from either the Starlight Dinner Cruise of the Sights & Sips Cruise. The Starlight features a four-course seated meal for $85 with a premium open bar option for $120 and the Sights & Sips offers up light appetizers for $65 or the Cocktail Cruise with a complimentary signature drink for $45.
The Tangled Vine Wine Bar & Kitchen has tangled up a new chef! John Conlin III, formerly of Savoy, is bringing his farm to table cooking to the venue. The menu will now focus even more on seasonal and local produce and will still have a Mediterranean flair. The new chef is also relaunching brunch with a new menu with delectables such as oyster hash omelette with east coast oysters, the Tangled Vine burger short rib blend, and the hangover special with pork 'n' eggs.
Regular menu items include spring consomme with fava beans, goat cheese dumplings and oyster mushrooms, roasted chicken with green garlic puree and spring onions, and many other tasty treats. Also being served at the restaurant are over 250 wines by the bottle and over 40 by the glass, which are biodynamic, organic, and sustainable from France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Germany. You can partake in one of their "trios," in which you can sample 2-ounce tastes of three different wines if you can't settle for just one.

DIE: Roll to Proceed is the show to see in NYC. Presented by Ashley C. Williams (aka the Human Centipede) and Mind the Art Entertainment, this comedy adventure allows the audience to choose the direction of the story. The audience will roll a die at pivotal moments in the show to determine the outcome. There are 72 different versions, guaranteeing that no two performances are the same!
Hey New Yorkers, looking for a groovy experience outside the norm? Trip out this weekend at Nitehawk Cinema for Jodorowsky's psychedelic epic, The Holy Mountain. The show is sure to awaken your senses and will feature a live soundscape performance by Long Distance Poision on Friday and Saturday nights at 12am. And don't freak about the late-night showing because by the time the movie starts, the booze will already have been flowing for hours and you can chow down and drink up as you watch the film.
Alejandro Jodorowsky's films are noted for their psychedelics, and The Holy Mountain is no exception. You can expect bloodshed, nudity, and plenty of imagination in this film. Jodorowsky plays a Christ figure who journeys through giant sets, beautiful locations, and kaleidoscope colors. Long Distance Poison, who will be accompanying the movie, is made up of Nathan Cearley, Erica Bradbury, and Casey Block. They bring together convergent psychedelic and electronic energies to perfectly complement the film.
This week Manhattan Lincoln and Chef Wolfgang Ban of Seasonal and Edi & The Wolf hosted a special Dine and Drive event, showcasing the all new Lincoln 2012 MKZ Hybrid. Guests enjoyed delicious hand-picked wine paired with small appetizers by Chef Ban upon arrival and were able to walk around and car-gaze at Manhattan Automobile Company.
Appetizers included porkbelly, beef tartar, king crab, oysters, tomato bread with basil, and beet gazpacho. Some of the wines accompanying the dishes include Steininger Riesling Sekt, Forstreiter Gruner Veltliner Grand Reserve 2010, and Wieninger Pinot Noir Select 2008, just to name a few.
June 4th brings the 30th Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards to NYU at the Skirball Center for Performing Arts at 7:30pm. Liza Minnelli will be honored with its Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award! We all know Liza (who didn't love her in recent endeavour Arrested Development?), winner of four Tony Awards, an Oscar, a special "Legends" Grammy, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Emmy. Now that's impressive. In film, television, and on stage, Liza has won critical acclaim, as well as a following of fans.
Granduca di Sicilia, Sicilian-style Italian eatery, opened up to the masses last week and aims to bring authentic Sicilian eats to New Yorkers. Restauranteur Ettore Manuli operates a similar restaurant in Taormina, Italy. You can expect to find imported goods from the region in his new resto - from ingredients to art to fountains. Objects of Sicilian folklore are strewn throughout the eatery, including a horse-drawn cart, hand carved puppets, and a life-size boat, all on display.

The Naked Truth: A game/burlesque show unlike any other. The show features burlesque star Julie Atlas Muz, and is hosted by Jonny Porkpie at The Triad. It will also feature Trixie Little and the Evil Hate Monkey, Peekaboo Pointe, Bunny Buxom and Satira Sin. Audience members will be hypnotized by the moves of these performers as they take the stage. Lucky attendees can also partake of the action when they come on stage to take part in an interactive game show that has them attempting to expose (and guess) the performers' most intimate secrets (let's hope you don't have too many of your own!). All your hard detective work won't go unrewarded--awesome prizes will be given away! The show starts April 21st, with performances happening the third Saturday of each month until June. Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club is officially re-opening its proverbial doors tomorrow, April 14th. The beach club, right next to South Street Seaport, will be open Fri-Sun for the rest of the month, and beginning May 4th, it will thankfully be open seven days a week from 12pm-3am. This outdoor summer hub will be launching a new menu with additional beers on tap, as well as a slew of fun events.
Beekman has two 25 and 60 foot bars, fire pits, flat screen TVs, foosball, and ping pong tables to ensure your never-ending amusement. Beekman Beach will now have its own private entrance and bar for exclusive events and on May 27th (Memorial Day weekend), the venue will launch its first Bikini Brunch Beach Party, which will take place every Sunday for the summer.
