Luxury and quality customer service should go hand-in-hand. Think about any high-end store that you visit. Greeted at the door? Sure. Offered immediate assistance? Of course. It could be thanks to killer commissions, but still, who doesn’t like to be treated like gold while splurging a little?
Marc Jacobs has now made it possible to get that same friendly treatment while sitting in front of your computer in your sweats. On September 21st, Marc Jacobs launched their first e-commerce boutique, equipped with a smiling doorman who greets you upon surfing over to marcjacobs.com.
The only thing fierce about this fashion show are the models. The first-ever Vegan Fashion Show will take place this Saturday, October 2nd as the part of the 11th Annual World Vegetarian Festival. San Francisco will host the entire weekend of events at Golden Gate Park’s County Fair Building.
Emceed by Rory Freeman, co-author of the New York Times bestseller Skinny Bitch, the show will feature designs by Pansy Maiden, Reco jeans, Lion's Share Industries, Vaute Couture, Melie Bianco, Cri de Coeur and the generously green designers of Mission Savvy .

New York Fashion Week may have just draw to a close, but the fashion scene in the capitol is just heating up. DC Fashion Week will run from September 20th through the 26th.
Monday will jump start the week of events with a first-ever bridal collection show. Other highlights include presentations by Ukrainian designers Myroslava and Yroslava Zubachyk, a fashion industry networking party, and shows which feature a Washington menswear collection and an international couture collection.
From equestrian to ethereal, cutting edge to costumey, the Argentine Designers' show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was an exciting, albiet undefinable presentation. Hand-selected by New York fashion editors and stylists, the designers each presented a short collection, all with very distinct aesthetics. Need inspiration for your next black tie affair or hot date? How about horseback riding or a Halloween party? You're covered.
While the designers' names may not be easily recognized, it was simple to identify Kelly Bensimon of The Real Housewives of New York City sitting in the front row with a unknown male companion. Benisom, who later tweeted that "the argentina group show was amazing," got an up-close view of the motley crew of designers that presented their Spring 2011 lines. Hot trends and head-scratchers seemed the be the theme. While you may not go for the 12-inch tall bobbie hat, leather shin guards, or a long-haired mohawk, you could definitely walk away with a few instant ideas of what the upcoming season will look like.
It may be closer to 2050 than 1950, but many Fall 2010 collections have us wondering, “Haven’t we seen that before?”
Feminine, demure, 50s-insprired items have made a comeback in tops, bottoms, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Contrary to the image that may come to mind, the iconic look is not all about poodle skirts and pink bomber jackets (although they may be pretty darn cute for Halloween).
Sunday night's VMAs hosted some of the most beautiful and certainly most talented of the MTV generation, but maybe not the most brightest, at least that is when it comes to fashion trends. While Taylor Swift played
the classic beauty in a smoky eye and deep red lips, and Nicki Minaj was able to pull of the best hot pink hair in the crowd, there were plenty of fashion faux pas and failures that we can only hope will not be played in repeat next year.
Congratulations Lady Gaga! Firstly for walking away with more awards than one can carry, and secondly for managing to disturb and even insult onlookers at the same time. As if Gaga's meat bikini, which graced the covers of Vogue Homme Japan, was not appalling enough, she accepted her "Video of the Year" award in a bloody meat dress, while Cher gracious held her meat purse. Please, lets keep the meat in the fridge and the dead animals away from the couture.
