THE LUXE LIFE
Trump Soho's Summer Reading Program

When you’re on vacation, or out at a club, what kind of amenities do you look for?

The little chocolates on the pillow are always appreciated and the ever flowing rotation of warm fluffy towels are quite nice, but familiar.

New at the Trump SoHo, comes the Summer Reading program, which encourages guests to relax by the Bar D'Eau's pool deck with a Kindle Touch that they give you.

Pre-loaded with magazines and popular novels straight from Oprah’s summer picks, the glare-proof gadget is offered at a starting, and perhaps startling rate of $395 a night. Prospective guests should learn to speed read because the Kindles cannot leave the pool area!

Kolo Klub is Hoboken's Newest Lounge

If you’re looking for an outsider’s perspective of the Manhattan’s skyline, we suggest crossing the river to Hoboken. From Andrej Ivanov and Ladislav Sebestyan comes Kolo Klub, Hoboken’s first craft-cocktail den on the second floor loft of Pilsener Haus.

Located in uptown Hoboken in a turn of the century building, the 4,000 sq. ft. rooftop lounge is only accessible via private elevator. The lounge features vaulted wooden ceilings and rows of windows that offer a scopious view of the Manhattan skyline. Guests will notice the unique logo, designed after the name of the bar itself, Kolo, being the Czech word for bicycle.

LIQUID COURAGE
Kings County Distillery Open for Tours

Brewery tours make for an ideal day trip with those out-of-town friends who are planning on crashing on your couch for the weekend; and Kings County Distillery would like to be on your short list. Nearly a year since moving to the historic Paymaster building in the Navy Yard, the distillery, which was founded in 2010, plans on offering $8 tours of the facility.

Guests will learn all about New York City’s distilling culture and get to taste the Kings County Moonshine, bourbon, and chocolate whiskey. It’s starting to sound like a trip to take on your own, just for the hell of it, doesn’t it? Co-founder David Haskell has also followed through on his plans to build a grain garden next door. The adjacent farm has been sprouting organic corn, barley, and pumpkins.
