Team Jacob will be happy to know that Taylor Lautner isn’t totally out of the running to return to the second Twilight installment as beloved Jacob Black. The vampire flick hit America in November and swept teenage girls (and let’s be honest, some of us 20-somethings) off their feet. Shortly after, it was rumored that Lautner, 16, could be replaced in the sequel, New Moon, by an older, more mature Michael Copon, 26.
It’s reported that everyone wants Lautner back, but because his character is completely different in New Moon – being a foot taller and much broader – he may not be able to play the same role. Lautner is aware of the physical difference in his character and he's working out hard to gain 19 lbs for the role. He told MTV last month he has 10 more to go. Main characters Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattinson are set to return as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. New Moon will be released Nov. 20, 2009, and Twilight mania will once again send millions of girls into a tizzy.
