'Harold & Kumar' Might Become a Cartoon!
Our comedy munchies just might be satisfied with possible new series.

After three pot-driven films, the adventures of Harold & Kumar may have potentially reached a milestone and get their own animated series!

Sure, they're no Beavis & Butt-head (despite their awesome return to MTV a couple of weeks ago!). but we have loved the duo ever since their munchies-induced trek to White Castle.

A source close to the project claims that Lionsgate is pitching the series and networks such as MTV & Comedy Central were just some of the companies showing their interest. The potential project is far from receiving the greenlight, but Deadline reports that returning actors John Cho and Kal Penn are signed on to voice the titular protagonists along with the film trilogy's writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. No word yet on the return of the occasional Neil Patrick Harris cameo, though he most likely would. After all, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle was what brought his career back to life in 2004.

Writer Hurwitz sat down for an interview and says: “What we feel is what works about these movies is the two central characters. It’s this sort of multi-cultural odd couple that everyone’s grown to know and love, and you just take these two guys and you put them in any kind of movie and we feel like we could bring them on a ridiculous and surreal adventure…"

If the television series comes through, the power of bromance - not to mention the complete stoner comedy genre - proves to be a favoring theme prevalent in television today. Not just for Harold & Kumar, but also think about the reincarnation of Beavis & Butt-head, and even FOX's animated version of Napoleon Dynamite, premiering in January.

We're totally down for some weekly Roldy & Kumar adventures. Fingers crossed!
