Starbucks Coffee in Exchange for Your Neighborhood
MTV gives gift bags to Snooki and JWoww's Season 2 neighbors as a thank you gift for allowing them to ruin their neighborhood.

America's most hated beloved guidettes, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenny "JWoww" Farley are back at it for another season. Thank God! What would television be like without seeing those two up to their usual antics, talking politics, reading classic American literature tanning, having many of drunken nights and fighting?

In early August, MTV producers decided to order a second season of Snooki and JWoww, even though the first season's ratings weren't what the network hoped they would be. However, they are expecting that adding the birth of Snooki's son into the show's storyline will help give ratings a much needed boost.

MTV executives had no idea it would be as hard as it was to find a new home to film the show. Various towns in New Jersey either flat out denied the show permission to take place there or were asking for producers to agree to numerous conditions, such as Point Pleasant and Morristown. They were left scratching their heads and scrambling for any town that would be willing to accept them and that is when Manchester, New Jersey entered the picture. The town's mayor, Michael Fressola, agreed to let MTV use his town for filming as long as the two reality stars promised to be good neighbors and stay in compliance with the law.

However, many of Manchester's residents didn't share the same views as their mayor and were furious that their town was going to play home for the MTV reality show. Residents began protesting, trying to get the decision reversed in fear that the two would destroy their town (like they did with Seaside). The network decided that in an attempt to smooth things over with neighbors they would send out gift bags.

TMZ.com just got their hands on pictures of the bags and what they contained. Neighbors were given a bag of Starbucks coffee, a mug, an assortment of candy, a puzzle book and a card thanking them for being so welcoming. MTV can pay these reality stars more than $100,000 per episode, but can only afford to spend $20 on each gift bag that they had been promising neighbors?

Good move, MTV, good move. Not only are you about to turn Manchester upside down, but have to be penny pinching while doing so.
