Ryan Murphy, creator of GLEE and FX’s thriller American Horror Story has finally released details of the upcoming third season of his successfully scary television drama, American Horror Story. Fans were eager to hear more about season three after Ryan slipped a hint into an episode of American Horror Story: Asylum by playing “I Put a Spell on You” on the asylum’s record player. Ever since fans have jumped to conclusions about what could be in store for season three. From New Orleans' voodoo practices to the Salem Witch Trials, the fan base was buzzing with what-ifs. Finally we have an answer, season three will be entitled American Horror Story: Coven.

Partly filmed in New Orleans, the season is “about a lot of things,” including witches, Ryan told a panel on Friday, March 15th, at the 2013 PaleyFest at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills. Using an idea Ryan has been throwing around for years, his team has been busy researching some of the most haunted places in the country for inspiration and possible shooting sites. Season 3 of AHS will be the first to go on the road and shoot on location compared to the Season 1's Harmon House and Season 2’s Asylum interiors all shot on sound studios.

Set to return for AHS: Coven will be American Horror Story alums such as, fangirl favorite Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, and the iconic Jessica Lange who is slotted to be a “glamour cat” for this season. When asked about her newest AHS role, Lange stated, “I don’t know what a glamour cat is, but I am excited.” New to the cast is Kathy Bates whose character will be “going at it” with Jessica Lange’s character throughout the season.
