Emilia Clarke to Star in James Franco Film
James Franco directing Game of Thrones actress in The Garden of Last Days

This week is full of casting news! Emilia Clarke, one of the breakout stars of Game of Thrones, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO hit, has been cast in The Garden of Last Days, a film adapation the novel by Andre Dubus III. The Garden of Last Days tells three interwoven stories, all set in Florida, and centers on the themes of family and sexuality. Dubus is also the author of A House of Sand and Fog, adapted in 2003 starring Jennifer Connelly.


The Garden of Last Days, directed by James Franco, will be set in present-day New York City instead of Florida. Emilia Clarke will play a stripper who brings her young daughter to work. The other storylines are about 'an angry, lonely man who gets thrown out of the club' and 'a foreigner with an endless supply of cash on the brink of committing a terrifying act.'

Production is expected to begin in early July.
