Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence stopped by the Yahoo headquarters on Wednesday night for a Q&A, where she revealed a lot more than just a daring new pixie hair cut. The 23 year old got into a deep conversation where she was pretty open about her thoughts on so many things, including tabloid rumors, embarrassing moments, her teen crush, working on big Hollywood films, and body image.
During the interview, Jennifer made it clear that she isn’t one of those starlets who are full of themselves because of their good looks. She had tripped on her own dress at the Oscars and while filming a scene for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” but she can now laugh it off. She joked about the difficulties of wearing her character’s Katniss’ wedding dress during the interview and also commented that one of the funniest moments on the set was when she got whacked in the butt during a fight sequence.
When she was asked who her celebrity crush was, she admitted that as a teen she had a thing for a former pop boy group member. “Justin Timberlake. Early 90s Justin Timberlake.” Jennifer confessed. “ I remember buying the NSync cd, and I was listening to it and I was flipping through it - Remember how cds had the pullout picture things? I got so overwhelmed with hormones that I almost threw up."
Jennifer did get to meet Justin this past year at the SAG awards. The two did take a picture together but despite her past crush, nothing else has developed between the two of them since Justin is married to Jessica Biel and Jennifer is said to be dating Nicholas Hoult.
Jennifer may have been very honest about her past crushes during her Q&A at Yahoo, but she also did point out that it’s not very common that she is so publically open about herself. She said that doesn’t like to talk too much about what she hates about herself and that she understands if someone finds her annoying for speaking too much. She also gave some very good heartfelt advice on body image to young adults everywhere.
You can hearJennifer’s entire statement in the video below. She said “You look how you look. Be comfortable. What are you going to do? Be hungry every single day just to make other people happy. That’s just dumb.” She then added that there are shows like the” Fashion Police” that are showing young people to judge others based on wrong values. She feels like shows like that make it seem like in the real world it’s okay to point at someone and call them fat or ugly. Jennifer thinks that the real world shouldn’t be like, but it’s going to continue to be like that, until people quit calling each other fat and stop with unrealistic expectations.
With such positive advice like the one she said on the video, it’s no wonder so many young adults would like to be her BFF.
