Almost Famous
Only a few weeks after Chris Brown was arrested for allegedly assaulting Rihanna on the eve of the Grammys, Us Weekly is reporting that the two spent this past weekend together at Diddy’s Miami house.
Supposedly Brown had reached out to Rihanna on her 21st birthday (incidentally the same day photos of the battered singer leaked online). Though the pair haven’t been seen together, Brown has been spotted jetskiing near Diddy’s house. The 19 year-old has also apparently started taking anger management classes in an attempt to repair his image.
What a shame - especially if she ACTUALLY goes back to him. Shame shame s h a m e.
US Weekly got a sneak peek at the cover of Lauren Conrad’s upcoming novel, L.A. Candy. The 22-year-old star of “The Hills” is finishing up a fictional story about a 19-year-old girl named Jane Roberts who has a lot in common with the author. The official book synopsis describes the story (a.k.a. Lauren’s life): “Roberts can't wait to start living it up. She may be in L.A. for an internship, but Jane plans to play as hard as she works and has enlisted her BFF Scarlett to join in the fun.” Soon, Jane and Scarlett are approached by a producer who wants them to be on a reality version of “Sexy and the City.”
She might be remembered best as the funny, adorable Rachel from “Friends,” but Jennifer Aniston has grown up. As of 2009, the actress reached the milestone age of 40, but is far from over the hill. In fact, she may soon be riding some type of exploding ATV over one. Aniston told Elle UK she has her eyes on an action-adventure role. She explained, “I get offered funny, quirky, pretty roles. I'd love to do an action movie. James Bond. Glamour. Daniel Craig. S**t-loads of fun.” Aniston also revealed she’s not afraid of the work it takes to stay in shape. She says, “I’m a realist. I know if I eat nothing but burgers, I'm not going to be hired for parts I normally would.”
This is hard for a New Yorker to write about, but I’ll try and manage.
Tom Brady, who is best known as losing the NFC championship for the New England Patriots, has finally married hottest girlfriend possible Gisele Bundchen. Us Magazine broke the news that Bundchen, 28, and Brady, 31, were married last night in Los Angeles in the St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica.
You can stop reading here, but my editor probably wants a fashion appraisal of Bundchen.
Because of some vague pronouns, it is widely agreed that Mr. Brady wore a strapless, fitted lace gown with a trumpet skirt by Dolce & Gabbana. Alright, it was Bundchen? Sorry, but he’s a Pat for Chris’sakes. In other news, her three dogs wore D & G lace collars.
Just under a year after filing for divorce over irreconcilable differences, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has determined the rate of monthly child support for Simmons to pay.
The 33-year-old ex-wife will get to keep up her fabulous lifestyle — she’ll receive $40,000 a month in child support from the hip-hop mogul. More like hip-hop bump in the road, with that kind of outward cashflow.
Kimora will have sole custody of their two daughters, 9-year-old Ming and 6-year-old Aoki. Which means that with two dependents, Ms. Simmons will be raking in $280,000 a year with very little tax. Listen, girls, here’s how to win at life: marry someone rich (love is a myth), pop out a couple of kids, and then get that divorce. I’m sure nannies and day care can’t cost more than $30,000 a year, so you can sit and watch your other $250,000 do the work. Women in the workplace — HAH!
Sigh…sometimes I think I could have been a novelist. But, alas, here’s a gossip story for those interested in the lives of the rich and famous.
Jodie Foster was caught speeding yesterday by a Beverly Hills policeman, going 54 in a 30 zone. Even more coincidentally (everything’s coincidental when it comes to celebrities), the crew of the show “Speeders,” which films speeding drivers, was there to film it.
However, Foster refused to sign a waiver, and insisted that she had not been speeding. She also complained that it was taking too long. She received a citation.
In more important sports news, Derek Jeter may be winning the race to get married, ahead of teammates Bobby Abreu and Hideki Matsui. The three made a hefty bet about getting married within a six-month time limit, which — looking at Abreu and Matsui — seemed like a pretty easy win for Jeter. (However, underdog Matsui had secretly planned a wedding and sprung it on his teammates just after the bet was made — in a likely homage to Pearl Harbor.)
According the NY Daily News Gossip, Jeter’s been macking on a 22-year old FIT undergrad. The girl’s been showing off to her friends, and the media finally got a hold of it.
In a thinly veiled Fruedian-Aeschylian move, Ellen Barkin is determined to push her HBO pilot — about a blonde woman divorcing a rich man and killing him — to a full-time show.
If you were worried that shows like Rome and Entourage belittled women, Barkin’s show promises to be as sexist as possible (is it still sexist if it’s about hating men?): “The bastard dies before she can divorce him,” says writer-producer Shauna Cross. Well, that seems fair and balanced.
After a nasty 2006 divorce from billionaire Ronald Perelman (not the Hellboy, Tom-Waits lookalike), Barkin was looking for some catharsis, or at least something to make her feel better. She found solace by playing a sexy cougar in Ocean’s 13, which led to several offers following her performance.
It's been over a decade since Jerry Seinfeld graced our TV sets in a weekly comedy but he's baaaaaack. Seinfeld will produce a reality series called "The Marriage Ref" where celebrities, comedians and a variety of other stars will weigh in on a real couple's very real marriage problems. Couples will be judged on who's in the wrong and be offered sage advice from the bevy of moderators. Seinfeld will work mostly behind the scenes but we're sure the funnyman won't be able to resist a few guest appearances. The actor assured E! "This is not a therapy show, it's a comedy show." But you have to wonder what lasting effects these celebrity "professionals" will leave on the real world couple set to be featured. Guess we'll find out this fall when the series premieres!
