Embrace your inner (urban) cowboy or cowgirl this New Years Eve 2013 at New York City's tribute to the Wild Wild West at Rockefeller Center's, Johnny Utah's. The untamed spirit of a Southwest saloon meets the essence of a swank upscale Manhattan watering hole at this sprawling upscale 6,000sf subterranean hideaway in the heart of Midtown NYC, steps off of tony high-end boutique lined Fifth Avenue. "Utah's" as most "in the know" Manhattanites call it, is famous for its scrumptious authentic Tex-Mex fare, rockin' hard partying good times and most of all, at its centerpiece, the residence of Manhattan's one and only mechanical bull.
Housed in a former bank, Johnny Utah's decor pays tribute to the ole' West with interpretations from mining shafts including exposed columns and towering ceiling beams. The epicenter of Johnny Utah's is the "rings of fire" created with cascading chains and burning candles. Aside from its main room adorned with candlestick lighting, vaulted lampshades, graphic western-inspired imagery and pony-hide furniture, Johnny Utah's boasts several private rooms for you to meander through. Located behind the expansive 38' bar, is the glass enclosed Earp Family Dining Room that overlooks the main room so you can marvel at the revelers as they marvel at you from below! The provocative Vault, aptly named after the preexisting bank vault, is lined with safety deposit boxes illuminated by antler pendants and crystal chandeliers from above. Most parties don't point out its bathroom's décor but in the case of Johnny Utah's, we must! The communal bathrooms are fashioned after an upscale outhouse with corrugated metal walls, old fashioned antique oil lanterns and a marble trough sink.
Johnny Utah's New Year's Eve shindig has all the elements for a phenomenal night. Bid farewell to 2012 and countdown the minutes 'til 2013 along with a live feed of the glittery ball drop displayed on one of its many giant projection screens. On New Year's Eve night, there will be no need to tempt the bucking bull. The big, fury beast will be put out to Manhattan's concrete pasture to make way for some seriously wild New Year's Eve revelry. The free flowing libations during a 5 hour premium open bar are chilled, the delectable selection of passed hors d'oeuvres is scrumptious, the tantalizing beats spun by a world renowned DJ is pumping and the full-throttle party vibe from the smoking hot crowd will kick this party into overdrive 'til the wee hours of the morning!
