Top 5 Spring 2013 Trends from Paris Fashion Week Pt. 2

Yesterday, we here at Joonbug premiered part one of our favorite Spring 2013 Fashion Trends fresh from the Paris rumways. Today, we resume our style love affair with round two.

Amplified Ethereal

A lot of goddess inspired looks a la flowy layers of princess worthy fabrics filled the Paris runways. Always a Springtime favorable style, designers took this fairytale inspired trend up a knotch with added bits of applique such as sequin, paillette and gemstone details.

Wedges Revamped

Wedges are pretty much considered a seasonable stable. Next Spring, expect to see wedges take a turn from wood or cork and enter into uncharted territories with boxy heels made of lucite, rubber and various other, lighter alternatives.

Sea Queens

We’re in no way talking Aloha inspired or tiki but seashell appliqués, chunks of coral for heels on hot stilettos, scuba-inspired trousers, fins as appliqués on jackets – the oceanic underworld seems to have captivated designers this season. The mermaid like looks are an ideal match for other haute trends expected to be seen come April like new powdery pastels, iridescent sheen and waves of ruffles. And, in terms of hit colors, also expect top designers to take a nod from the sea with all shades of rich blue hues from acqua to cobalt.

The Refine Method

By now, most of us have heard of barre pilates and booty ballet. But, what if we want our entire physiques to resemble that of a prima ballerinas? Get one step closer to long gams, toned shoulders and a serious six-pack (plus that firm booty we all long for) by introducing the Refine Method to your regular exercise routine.

Created by New York-based, Black Swan back-up dancer, Brynn Jinnett, the Refine Method goes beyond quasi-plies and basic barre moves to give you a real dose of the athleticism behind ballet.

Ryan Gosling for Christian Grey

Anyone who’s read the sexy and controversial Fifty Shades series has their own theory on who should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. At first, I was certain that Josh Duhamel and Anne Hathaway were ideal but then I read about another potential pairing that took my big screen cake, Ryan Gosling and the doughy wide eyed English actress, Felicity Jones of Like Crazy. In my book (literally), these two would make sequel after sequel magic. Buh-bye K-Stew.

According to reports, Gosling is a lead candidate to take on the dominant, S&M sex driven character. Though author E.L. James insists, no ones been chosen yet. James also says she may or may not have someone in mind for the steamy role, but declines to name names as she insists it’s far too early in the process.

Who would you pick as the lead for this seductive novel series blockbuster debut? Leave your comments in the box below.

Project 7

My chewing gum gives back, how ‘bout yours? I jumped at the chance to purchase Project 7’s gum when I realized its mission extended well beyond the catchy packaging. Each tray of this Peppermint Vanilla flavored gum provides up to seven meals to those in need.

Founded by serial entrepreneur, Tyler Merrick, Project 7 is a company dedicated to making “Products for Good” by making every day products that give back to seven areas for good around the globe. The every day products include items like water, mints, coffee, even clothing and this very gum I’m chewing on as I’m tap, tap, tapping. The products are meant to be something that every day people can buy that’s profits are in deed donated to one of seven areas of good: Feed the Hungry, Heal the Sick, Hope for Peace, House the Homeless, Quench the Thirsty, Teach them Well and Save the Earth.
