The unrelenting New York City climate in the middle of a very chilly January did not stop guests one bit from venturing to posh nightclub, Lavo, on Saturday to view Adventure Club man the decks. The Canadian duo known as, Adventure Club, were probably better equipped for this weather being Montreal natives, but that's besides the point.
If you aren't already familiar with Adventure Club, all you need to know is that their genre is unique. It's dubbed as the 'clubstep' genre, and it's exactly what it sounds like. It's mood enhancing music you can vibe to, given the vibrating synths flowing effortlessly throughout. As a true Adventure Club fan, their set did not disappoint. They came on roughly around 1 AM and opened the crowd to some big room favorites like Martin Garrix's latest song, 'Wizard.' That was sure to get the overly packed club narrowing in on the dance floor from all corners of the venue.
N4N will go live at 3:00 PM MDT then Adventure Club will follow with their live performance at 4:00 PM MDT .
Rich Hofer is the man behind N4N and he's rocked Denver's underground scene for years. You can expect familiar electro and progressive house from his set, as well as, deep tech house sounds that will have you grooving along. His livestream performance today is only the beginning to his 2014 domination, as he's expected to come out with some original new music this year.
2013 is coming to a near finish, which means it's time to reflect on the year's most exciting Artists and DJs. The rise of EDM is no secret and not to be overrated. With an abundance of new talent, artists recreating their sound, and stellar festival sets that stood out from the rest, the EDM scene looks like it's constantly generating exciting buzz all throughout the year. Here's our pick of the Top 20 DJs who's made a great impression in the electronic music scene:
It's no secret that Robbert van de Corput, better recognized as, Hardwell, was crowned DJ Mag's #1 DJ. In 2011, he entered the Top 100 list at #24, quickly rising the ranks to #1 in a matter of only two years. There's a reason why he's been voted the top DJ, just look at the views on all his major festival sets on Youtube. His Tomorrowland set garnered 16+ million views while his Ultra set is at 17+ million views. The numbers certainly speak for themselves. At only 25 years old, there's no slowing down this festival tycoon anytime soon!
Adventure Club stopped by Webster Hall this past Friday on their Superheroes Anonymous Tour. With hundreds of fans in attendance, Adventure Club along with Dallas K, Hunter Siegal and DVBBS put on a show that is definitely one for the books.
Before the show even began, the energy outside of Webster Hall was intense as fans were waiting to get inside and be amazed. To start, Dallas K and Hunter Siegal took the stage and got the crowd pumped up and ready to rage. Once DVBBS came on, their energy and animated interaction with the crowd got everyone jamming. As soon as DVBBS dropped their super hit “Tsunami” the crowd absolutely lost it after the first drop. DVBBS continued to get the crowd going wild with hits like “Stampede” and “We Are Electric” while occasionally stepping out from behind the mixers, and sometimes jumping on top, to get closer to the audience and add to their energy.
As Americans we have many things to thank Canada for; for instance, Ryan Gosling, Justin Bieber, Ice Hockey, Degrassi, and, most notably, Adventure Club!
The always fun and charasmatic Canadian duo, comprised of Christian Srigley and Leighton James, is currently on their Superheores Annonymous Tour and will be making the trek to NYC this Friday to play at the famed Webster Hall, with special guests DVBBS and Hunter Siegal.
