The funny girls sat around the piano and attempted to give viewers a preview of the show's opening number, which they claimed they wrote. However, Tina had a little trouble finding the right starting pitch. At least Carrie wasn't the only one giving a cringe-worthy performance.
The Golden Globe Awards are once again going to be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey-- not just in 2014, but in 2015 as well. Rumors began swirling in late August that the comedic duo were reportedly going to asked back to host the award show.
When the SNL alums hosted the show in January, it received positive reviews from critics and ratings rose to 19.7 million viewers, the most the award show has had in the past six years.
While Emmy winners were busy celebrating last night, so were the Emmy losers. Thanks to Amy Poehler and Jon Hamm, those who did not win were also able to enjoy their night and forget about their loss.
Poehler and Hamm were co-hosts of the Emmy’s loser party held at Soho House in West Hollywood. Nominees who failed to win an Emmy were able to get into the party for free. Emmy winners who wanted to enter the party had to make a $1000 donation to the Worldwide Orphans Foundation. According to E! Online, more than $30,000 was raised by both Emmy winners and losers. Celebrities who donated money received a personally engraved bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue.
Forbes released their list of the highest paid TV actresses, and for the second year in a row Sofia Vergara takes the top spot. The list, which calculated the money actresses earned from June 2012 to June 2013, reported that Vergara made $30 million in that time.
With the collective amount earned by all the actress on the list is $183 million, it’s not just their TV salary that Forbes is taking into account. Such as in Vegara’s case, Forbes took into account not only her Modern Family salary but also her clothing line with Kmart as well as her endorsement deals with Covergirl and Diet Pepsi.
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were reportedly asked to return as hosts for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on NBC. Although the two SNL alums agreed that hosting the show would be a onetime gig, with the rise in ratings of 2013's show, it comes as no surprise that producers want them back.
When they hosted the award show this past January, ratings rose to an all time high of almost 20 million viewers. NBC and Dick Clark Productions, producer of the Golden Globes, have not formally asked Poehler and Fey to return, but are looking to see if the funny ladies would be interested in hosting again.
So, the 70th Annual Golden Globes are exactly a month away and we couldn't be more excited that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey (who are both up for Best Comedy Series Actress) will be hosting! TV's funniest women will be taking charge this year and you can bet it will be one hell of a show.
The SNL alums first promo for the show has been released and it's no surpise the ladies are just a trip. Sure, we're rooting for our faves (Leo, Anne, Alec and Claire to name a few) but we're not afraid to admit we'll watching just for Amy and Tina's wild commentry!
Many SNL fans are lamenting Sarah Palin’s disappearance from the headlines and Tina Fey’s corresponding absence from Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey may be gone but Amy Poehler reappeared Saturday to reprise her role as Hillary Clinton.
The sketch-comedy series has enjoyed a higher profile this election year with spoofs of various candidates’ political missteps. Poehler opened the show by smiling into the camera and asking, “You thought I was gone, didn’t you?” Hilarity ensued as ‘Clinton’ attempted to convince herself that her new role as Secretary of State will be infinitely better than if she had been elected President. “Would you rather fix the economy or travel the globe? Point Hillary!" Poehler exclaimed.
After announcing popping out her first child on Saturday, Amy Poehler has decided to leave SNL in favor of being a mom and potentially starring in a Office spin-off. But now, SNL must decide how to cope with the loss of yet another female cast member. With only two women left on the show including Kristen Wiig and newcomer Casey Wilson, SNL execs are struggling with how to solve their lack of estrogen. They plan to hire more actresses in the future but for now are going to stick with the two they got for this weeks show hosted by Ben Affleck.
