So, the 70th Annual Golden Globes are exactly a month away and we couldn't be more excited that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey (who are both up for Best Comedy Series Actress) will be hosting! TV's funniest women will be taking charge this year and you can bet it will be one hell of a show.
The SNL alums first promo for the show has been released and it's no surpise the ladies are just a trip. Sure, we're rooting for our faves (Leo, Anne, Alec and Claire to name a few) but we're not afraid to admit we'll watching just for Amy and Tina's wild commentry!
Many SNL fans are lamenting Sarah Palin’s disappearance from the headlines and Tina Fey’s corresponding absence from Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey may be gone but Amy Poehler reappeared Saturday to reprise her role as Hillary Clinton.
The sketch-comedy series has enjoyed a higher profile this election year with spoofs of various candidates’ political missteps. Poehler opened the show by smiling into the camera and asking, “You thought I was gone, didn’t you?” Hilarity ensued as ‘Clinton’ attempted to convince herself that her new role as Secretary of State will be infinitely better than if she had been elected President. “Would you rather fix the economy or travel the globe? Point Hillary!" Poehler exclaimed.
After announcing popping out her first child on Saturday, Amy Poehler has decided to leave SNL in favor of being a mom and potentially starring in a Office spin-off. But now, SNL must decide how to cope with the loss of yet another female cast member. With only two women left on the show including Kristen Wiig and newcomer Casey Wilson, SNL execs are struggling with how to solve their lack of estrogen. They plan to hire more actresses in the future but for now are going to stick with the two they got for this weeks show hosted by Ben Affleck.
