On November 18th, 2013, guests were invited to meet Andaz 5th Avenue's new executive chef, the charming and tattooed Chad Minton. The mellow and intimate event was held at Apartment 2E of the swanky midtown Manhattan Hotel where guests sipped on drinks at the open bar while tasting Minton's new Fall/Winter menu.
Part festival, part fête, part conference, and part 5-day cocktail party the 4th Annual Manhattan Cocktail Classic is a “celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture.” Tickets for one of the most sought out events in the city go on sale this afternoon at noon. The multi-day celebration of cocktails and culture is held throughout the city at the most renowned watering holes, across three boroughs. From May 17-21, cocktail and spirit enthusiasts will revel at dozens of events including boozy brunches, spirited soirees, bar crawls, bus tours, punch parties, and a three-day trade conference for industry professionals.

Graffiti artist turned fashion designer, Claw Money now designs clothes, footwear, and accessories for some of the biggest names in showbiz, including Kanye West, Rhianna, and Nicki Minaj. Currently, the designer is working on a mural at Andaz 5th Avenue for their TBD art exhibition, which features different artists who will paint their view of New York --today. The project is curated by the SA Studios Artist Collective and each piece will be photographed and turned into limited edition post cards ($5 at bar downstairs). Proceeds will be donated to charity. Choose from an appetizer of butternut squash and pumpkin bisque with toasted pumpkin seeds or a fall salad of frisse and seasonal greens (with roquefort cheese, maple glazed walnuts, warm bacon vinaigrette). Move on to the entree, where you can choose from roasted turkey with mashed taters, candied sweet potatoes, haricot vert, cornbread, stuffing, cranberry orange relish...basically, the works. Or you can opt for slow roasted prime rib with mashed potatoes, sauteed baby veggies, with a delicious port wine sauce. Still not enough options for you? They also offer white truffle ravioli with toasted pine nuts in a brown butter sage sauce. Dessert brings more goodies in the form of pumpkin pie a la mode or hot apple pot pie, also a la mode.

Grab your brew on the go if you are a shopaholic or take your time and relax at the communal table in the retail section. Pair it with some snacks made by Pastry Chef Charmaine McFarlane or grab a sandwich from local purveyors such as the Mast Brothers and Katz's Delicatessen.
