Portugese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista designs high profile french sportswear for Lacoste as the creative director. After being praised for working for MaxMara and Cerruti amongst others , Baptista has also collaborated with Nike and Uniqlo.
BCBG Max Azria is most definitely a Joonbug fashion favorite. The pieces are both fashion forward, yet very wearable in the city. We here at JB also enjoy sharing our experiences with those that read our columns. If you have ever wondered what it's like to sit in a VIP area at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week -- we have the inside scoop just for you!
American Express returned to Lincoln Center with the exclusive American Express Skybox, where cardmembers experienced the week’s most exciting shows in a premium Cardmember Lounge perched high above the runways. Before the presentation, guests enjoyed a delicious breakfast from a menu curated by FOOD & WINE®, another member of the American Express family. Delicious menu items in the American Express Skybox featured a roster of well-known chefs that are included in the October 1st release of the FOOD & WINE™ Best New Chefs All-Star Cookbook. Over the past 25 years the magazine has helped launch the careers of hundreds of chefs, and is celebrating this milestone by highlighting a superstar Best New Chef from each year like Thomas Keller (’88), Tom Colicchio (’91) and David Chang (’06) in this new cookbook. The food was fabulous and attendees cheered the runway show with tasty mimosas. A great way to celebrate Fashion Week, we might add!
This season, Maybelline New York, in partnership with YouTube, will be live streaming Fashion Week shows, news, beauty tips and fashion all throughout New York Fashion Week. Maybelline New York is the Official Makeup Sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Feb. 9 - 16th in NYC.
And the game begins!
Refinery29.com and BCBG are teaming up to host a competition to see who will be the face of BCBGMAXAZRIA’s Spring 2013 ad campaign. Creative director, Lubov Azria, and Refinery29.com will hand pick 10 women from all over the U.S. to fly to L.A. to be photographed, and have their images put up on BCBG’s social media pages, the website, and even in retail stores.
Round one: The winner of the contest will be featured in BCBG’s 2013 ad campaign as well as receive $5,000 in merchandise value. Didn’t win? Well don't worry because there is always a second chance!
Have you been cursed (blessed?) with impossible taste? Every time you see something you love, is it always the most expensive thing in the store? Yes, we understand. There's a Valentino-loving-Christian-Louboutin-craving-Chanel-worshipping shopaholic in all of us. Some girls say they're not "into brands," but trust me, they wouldn't turn down a $5k Chanel handbag. I remember prom dress shopping as a teenager and every dress I picked out was always absurdly priced.
That's what our new "Shoppers Anonymous" section is for. All the cravings, lemmings and impossibly priced, beautiful pieces we fantasize about. Afterall, there is a form of therapy in window shopping. Sometimes we may throw in an affordable version of our impossibly priced picks. Other times we'll just drool. Join us in a little online retail therapy. Let's dream, ladies!
After clicking through pictures of New York Fashion Week’s new collections, Miami fashionistas might find themselves discouraged by the upcoming Fall trends. We love Oscar de la Renta, but who are we kidding? Fur gilets have no place in the 305. Don’t let that get you down, though. There are a ton of other trends perfect for our November weather. Miami isn’t as seasonless as you think.
Although Fall fashion isn’t usually anticipated for its colors, brights popped up everywhere, electrifying major designers’ collections. You can’t go wrong with color in Miami, and our favorites were royal blue at BCBG Max Azria, tomato red at DKNY, green at Marc Jacobs, and neon everything at Betsey Johnson. Blazers also survived another season in colors other than quintessential black. We love this one in mustard by The Row.
Which fall trends are you excited to wear?
