With a name like Jo 'Boobs' Weldon, you know that the Headmistress of the NY School of Burlesque is sure to impress. Gotham Burlesque welcomes this siren to the stage on July 7th at 10pm at the Triad Theater.
In addition to Ms. Boobs, the show will also host the great deceiver Albert Cadabra, world champion trick roper Chris McDaniel, Coney Island sword swallower The Great Fredini, the one woman riot Minnie Tonka, the Monty Python of burlesque Pinke Special, BB Heart, Raquel Reed, and the girl with a soulful voice and cheeks as sweet as cherries, Cherry La Voix. The show will be hosted by *Bob* and stage kitten extraordinaire Dangrrr Doll.
If you want some titillating, sexy, fun, then Wasabassco Burlesque is definitely your cup of tea. Celebrating its 7 Year Anniversary, this Brooklyn-based burlesque show (began in 2004) has become one of the greatest burlesque shows ever. November 4th and 5th you can enjoy over 40 of Wasabassco's favorite performers and over SIX hours of entertainment (can you handle it?). Come out Friday night for a stocking fashion show from PEEK Brooklyn featuring the lovely ladies of Wasabassco, as well as a unique pole dance show (within a show) sponsored by X-Pole, and an exclusive engagement by Chicago's Michelle L'Amour, The Most Naked Woman. Saturday night brings more fun and seduction to the table with a tattoo-art runway walk of performers inked by Scarlet Sinclair of Tattoo Ritual, as well as a special appearance by Outer Borough Brass Band. Don't miss two fabulous nights of striptease, fire eating, hula hooping, and more! Hosts of this magnificent event include Doc Wasabassco, Bastard Keith, GiGi La Femme, Nasty Canasta, Sapphire Jones, and Stormy Leather.
As if there aren't enough bastards in your life, The Horse Trade Theater Group, in association with The Sopisticates, will be putting on a monthly show starring burlesque MC Bastard Keith and striptease master Madame Rosebud. These two sexual connoisseurs have looked high and low for the world's craziest, goriest, dumbest, and nakedest exploitation movies around, and during Bastardpiece Theater, you will get to see the result.
Bastardpiece Theater will take place on the second Thursday of every month at 10:30pm at UNDER St. Marks. The inaugural show is October 13th. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased here. The first show will feature The Gore-Gore Girls with guest commentator Brian Silliman.
