EDITOR'S LETTER
Editor's Letter: Bidding You Farewell

There is a quiet in our office today I haven't experienced in some time. New Year's Eve and the holiday event season is over and there are only boxes to remind us of last weekend. The events staff did an excellent job producing over 50 parties in New York and Miami for over 30,000 people. It almost seems anti-climactic. I had gotten used to the hustle and bustle from the past few months.

Gary Spencer: The Style Of Nightlife

Hi Joonbuggers !

Its been a whole month since I have been here, Seems like much longer right ?

Lots to catch up on, I’ve been a busy boy so lets get right into it.

Style and Nightlife, that’s what Chet, Joonbug's Editor-In-Chief said when they asked me to start writing this column. Well, those of you that have been avid readers will know that there has been a lot of nightlife, but very little style apart from when I went on Fashion's Night Out. In this week's piece of my diary we are going to change all that because instead of me doing a 5 Questions in 5 minutes I am going to write a small piece all about Andrew and Julia Clancey, two very stylish Brits who both love New York and Los Angeles.

EDITOR'S LETTER
Editor's Letter: 'We Make The Unreal Real'

In New York City, in the summer, cross-island ferries shuttle tourists and leftover stud ents from Manhattan to the beaches of Governor's Island for free concerts and festivals as locals hop on the next train out of town for the calmer and cooler sands of The Hamptons and Fire Island. Even a trip down to the Jersey Shore isn't out of the question, especially on a holiday weekend. And, then there are those of us who sweat it out in the heat of the Manhattan solstice and keep the party alive on the steamy city streets.

Paige Skolnick: Cupcakes In The Limelight

Joonbug staffers will attest to the fact that I love cupcakes! So it is no surprise that my first task when I was an intern for Joonbug was to put together a Cupcake Giveaway promotion! Joonbug and Cupcake Stop joined forces and gave away 500 mini cupcakes to Joonbug members and followers.

Now as a full time member of the Joonbug team, I am making it my mission to continue the cupcake love. With Editor, Chet Jordan, in tow I made my way to The Limelight Marketplace earlier today and had the pleasure of meeting Chief Cupcake Samurai, Vicki.

ABOVE ALLEN
Editor's Letter: 'What Happened To You?'

So much of what matters in nightlife revolves around the storyline from the night before. Without the embellished tales of what went on, who was there, and who got in the cab with who at the end of the evening, nightlife would simply be a daily or weekly exercise like going to the gym or lunch with your boss.

Last week I met up with star of MTV's Downtown Girls, Nikki Laura Cohen to talk about the premier of the show. Remember the whole ordeal of the ex-swap on the first episode? Recall how all of the girls said they wouldn't get jealous? Notice how everyone did get jealous? Well, it didn't take long to find out from Nikki that her "friendly date" at the bowling alley that evening won't be happening again and that the chap she ended up with probably wouldn't be making his way Downtown anytime soon. Oh, and, of course, Nikki Laura is wonderfully happy with her boyfriend whom she supports financially. She also told me that a daily regiment of working a certain group of muscles keeps your man fresh and coming back for more. That, the cash and the life of a Downtown Girl sounds like the perfectly written New York love story. With a twist.

APSEN SOCIAL
Partying With Jes Gordon

Under the dim lights of Manhattan's elite nightclub, Aspen Social, celebrity event planner and author Jes Gordon invited us to join her table for a late-afternoon chat about planning first class, successful parties and events. Her recently published, self-described "textbook for party planning," gives readers a step-by-step guide to planning dream parties. Including everything from tight budget management to host and hostess etiquette, Jes illuminates a world that people are often intimidated by, expressing a simplistic approach to throwing a star-studded event for your friends, colleagues and family members.

ALLISON INTRIERI
Chet Settin': For The Final Time

To All My Little Joonbugs,

While I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I need to let all my Miami bugs in on a little news that has been going on here in the Joonbug office in New York. This will be my last Chet Settin' column as I have taken on the role of Editor-In-Chief of Joonbug. With that comes some new territory. I am responsible for the New York site now ::gasp:: and I hope that we will achieve just as much success here in The City as we did in Los Angeles and Miami. Oh, how I will miss talking to you all on a daily basis and daydreaming about the beaches of Malibu and the shores of South Beach.

I am responsible for the New York site now ::gasp:: and I hope that we will achieve just as much success here in The City as we did in Los Angeles and Miami. Joonbug Staff Gets Excited For Prom 2010: Chet Jordan

This Saturday is the Joonbug and Fashion Indie Prom at Espace! To get the Joonbug office in the mood we asked everyone to reminisce about prom. What is your favorite prom memory? Think about it as you buy tickets. Are you coming with a date or stag? Either way we'll see you Saturday!

JB: What was your first thought when you heard you were hosting an adult prom?
CJ: Oh what a night! And, what should I wear?.

JB: Did you go to your high school prom?
CJ: Yes. I went to prom all four years. I stood in for the prom king at the ceremony when I was a freshman. He was at the Olympic Trials for swimming.
