After 14 albums and over three decades together, Duran Duran might as well have been a living display from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s legendary collection of music paraphernalia. The band has changed and aged over the years, but the same sprightly spirit has remained with Simon, Nick, John and Roger.
Four giant, ghostly white masks hung high above a stage spotlighted a dark shade of blue. The crowd erupted as the house lights dimmed and the band emerged. The boys blasted off to outer space with their first single circa 1981, Planet Earth. Flashing lights resembled the launching of a spaceship and the band performed to a backdrop of stars whizzing by at light speed.

Expect classics such as skate anthem "Kick, Push" and "Superstar," as well as newer singles like "Show Goes On." The Chi-Town MC is never one to hold back his political and social beliefs, so its likely he'll be as blunt and unfiltered between songs as he is in the press.
The night's forecast was awesomeness with a chance of stage fog and scattered showers.
Bathed in blue and red light, Young The Giant started the show with an energetic performance, to say the least. Lead vocalist Sameer Gadhia appeared to be having seizures in between fits of banging his tambourine on one of his drummer's cymbals. Their set seemed to be in-sync with the weather as it started raining in the midst of their track "St. Walker," featuring lyrics like "If there is water, you’ll drown/ Drown down in it." If you like The Killers, Modest Mouse and Franz Ferdinand, you'll favor this indie rock band from Irvine, California. Check out their self-titled debut album on purevolume.com.
