When we heard about a four day adventure on the high seas with 96 hours of music provided by around 70 DJ/Producers to a sold out crowd of around 2700 participants, we were both intimidated and excited at the idea of partaking in this escapade.
We had the pleasure of chatting with the founder Jason Beukema before we set sail. It was exciting to hear some of the insights behind his vision and passion for this adventure. Groove Cruise began with 125 friends ten years ago, and now there are around 4,700 people taking part on both coasts. It's now grown to a bi-coastal event with an incredibly high return rate of past party-goers.

Cosmic Gate, German trance duo made up of Claus Terhoeven (aka Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (aka Bossi), have been producing music for over a decade. We had the pleasure of having a chat with them before their show at Pacha on December 13th.
What has been the favorite track off the Wake Your Mind Deluxe Edition-- both personally and on the dance floor?
It depends on the mood on the dance floor and it depends on the club. Some crowds are more bouncy and some are more trancey and it’s different listening to the track. You feel one track more than another one day to the next. So we will not really go and put one out against another. If you just heard it and sometimes we love it for two to three weeks. Then once they get tired of it again I’ll have a different favorite. We don’t want to pick a favorite but it’s good that we have the option to pick.
German trance duo, Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems, better known as Cosmic Gate, will be bringing their amazing trance energy to the stage of Pacha NYC this Friday, December 13.
With a musical career spanning more than decade, these seasoned professionals are sure to thrill the crowd by bringing their own unique blend of classic and updated trance.
Earlier this year, they released a deluxe edition of their 2011 album release Wake Your Mind and the material from that has proven to be a dance floor hit.
This Friday, December 13th, their energy combined with Pacha NYC’s luxurious environment holds the promise of a fantastic night out.

Any New York City club venue that lasts for 8 years and is still going strong calls for a celebration. The dance floors of Pacha nightclubs worldwide are famous for bringing all the hottest DJs to spin for the night and now Pacha New York is celebrating their 8 year mark by featuring a December line up that is so packed with renowned DJs, you need to check out this repertoire.
The Eight-Year Anniversary event kick starts with Grammy-nominated, Austrailian DJ Dirty South on Saturday, December 7th. As a Pacha favorite, he will bring his big-room style House sounds to get the crowd going in high gear.
This past Saturday the German trance duo, Cosmic Gate, took hold of the ears and hearts of New York party goers with an amazing performance at Marquee. This venue is one of the City’s most sophisticated and beautiful clubs, the tactile environment and perfectly balanced sound system was a great reflection of the emotionally charged music that the crowd was there for.
Due to a private party, the show did not start until midnight, but by 11:30pm, there was already quite a line stretching down 10th avenue. Once doors opened, the club quickly filled up and the opening DJ began the party with an hour long set of low key tracks that woke the crowd up and made them hungry for more.
