Fun Things Happening in NYC Right Now

With so many options out there it can be hard to pick just one thing to do in NYC. Luckily for you, we've narrowed it down to some awesome upcoming events and specials that you should not miss!

Gotham Burlesque is at it again...this time with special guest star Dirty Martini. September 1st at 10pm brings you the spiciest Labor Day Weekend around with New York's sexiest show. Headliner Angie Pontani is sure to bring the house down with her sultry moves, along with fellow dancers Peekaboo Point, Bettina May, Nasty Canasta, Medianoche, Pinkie Special, and Albert Cadabra. The show will be hosted by *Bob*, with special appearance by Dangrrr Doll. Head to The Triad for a night to remember. Ticket prices range from $35-$45 and can be purchased here.

Be There or Be Hungry: July's Culinary Festivities

As if you could ever run out of things to do in New York City there are a plentiful amount of food festivals to keep you fueled during you adventures this summer. Generally a tourist attraction, these festivals crawl with locals looking to experience new and innovative foods. Whether home is a plane ride away or a few stops on the subway, you'll have a tasty story to tell when you there.

Thanks to generations of huddled masses, New York City can be home for the Melting Pot Food Tour on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The tour is a cultural event that allows people to learn what different foods represent in different cultures. It takes you through popular areas settled by immigrants like Chinatown and Little Italy, gaining you access to which each area has to offer. This is a repeating tour available from July 10th thru July 31st.

Moms Rule: Meals & Deals to Celebrate Mother's Day

Mother's Day is right around the corner, and instead of waiting last minute to make your plans, we've got a list of great deals going on in the concrete jungle that are sure to make your mom's heart melt. From cruises to shows and of course plenty of grub, here's your guide to giving your mother a day she will surely remember!

  • Make your mama's heart melt this Mother's Day by booking a two hour brunch or three hour dinner cruise aboard the Hornblower Hybrid. May 13th at 12pm, the ship will sail along the New York Harbor for brunch and at 7pm for dinner, both featuring live entertainment. The ship sails from Pier 40 at the Westside Highway and Houston Street. The perfect gift for the eco conscious mom, this Hybrid has both stunning architectural design, as well as environmentally friendly elements including repurposed and recycled materials, recycled glass Vetrazzo countertops, and low voltage LED mood lighting. The ship also has oversized windows, a viewing atrium, and two outdoor sundecks, giving prime viewing opportunities to guests.
[PICS] A Shipload of Fun: Holy Ship! Rages On

While we boring adults toil away at our office desks in 30 degree weather, a shit ship-load of people are having the time of their lives, bikini-clad in the tropics. Holy Ship! set sail last Friday and pictorial evidence has surfaced of what we suspected was going to be the the craziest cruise of all time. Indeed, it is. With Skrillex, Steve Aoki, A-Trak, Diplo, Jonathan Davis, and Tommy Lee amongst others, we had no doubt this was going to be quite the party. Now there's photographic evidence of what we're missing. Laugh now, cry later? Actually, cry now, cry later.

Which reminds us --we need a vacation....or at least a "field reporting" assignment.

Paul DiGiovanni Hosts Fundraising Cruise

Listen up Boston! Want to go on a fabulous sunset cruise, enjoy amazing food/drinks, and be entertained by a rockstar? Guess what. You can!

Saturday, September 10th at 7 pm, Winthrop non-profit The FA Project is having a fundraiser aboard Boston’s Best Cruises’ The Voyager III. Boys Like Girls’ guitarist Paul DiGiovanni will provide entertainment. That’s right; DiGiovanni is appearing at this great event during his time off from touring.

Prepare to be serenaded by DiGiovanni’s ridiculous riffs, but expect a new sound. DiGiovanni is switching gears; instead of the alternative/punk sound Boys Like Girls is known for, he’s focusing on a more jazz-and-blues vibe. The energy level will definitely remain high and intense, even though the sound is different – exactly what Boys Like Girls fans expect.
