Make Way For Prandial

Located in the heart of the Flatiron District, Prandial is a charming newcomer to the area. Once you step inside, you will be greeted by a rustic bar serving refreshingly delicious cocktails, like the Prandial Standard, which is made with Russian Standard Vodka, fresh lime juice, cucumber and mint. Weekdays at the bar feature happy hour from 4-7pm with half price beer, wine, and house cocktails. You can also order some unique dishes from their bar menu while you booze.

A Foodie's Guide to Celebrating 4th of July

A holiday is simply not a holiday without some good eats—and drinks—to accent the occasion. New York City is a melting pot that offers food from pots of many cultures. There are plenty options for July 4th and the weekend leading up to it where New Yorkers and tourists can go to celebrate.

Be one of the first to try an outdoor dining experience at La Mar Cebicheria on Friday, June 29th as the Peruvian restaurant opens its patio seating area. The Flatiron District location provides a great view of Madison Square Park you can enjoy with lunch or dinner. Trying to keep it budget friendly? Go during happy hour from 3pm-7pm and order from the bar menu. There are some great options all under $10. The cocktail menu packs a punch, literally. The pisco punch is one of La Mar’s more popular drinks and even has a little history.

Home's Kitchen Feels Like Home

Located between 5th avenue and Avenue of the Americas, this Chinese restaurant was exquisite. A friendly environment was felt once you walked in. With the bright and inviting colors, along with the unique lighting design, Home's Kitchen offered great service and food.

As we walked in the restaurant, a warm greeting was given and as we looked around, a crowdy atmosphere was seen. Lots of people were enjoying their meals as we came. When we sat down, the waiters gave us water, an appetizer, as well as the menus. From the menu, both my friend and I chose from the lunch special. I had the chicken and broccoli with white rice and spring roll which cost $7.75. My friend had the same except with beef.

Via Emilia: You Had Me at Tigelle

Via Emilia
47 East 21st Street
New York, NY 10010
(212) 505-3072

A friend of mine and I decided to get something to eat this past Saturday after our hunger had been impatiently following us around all day. Both of us identifying the apparent desire for Italian that our taste buds teased into a frenzy, we (okay, I) decided to try out a place called Via Emilia, a Northern-Italian restaurant tucked away on 21st street in the Flatiron District. We hopped in my friend's red BMW (see also: leather interior, sunroof, jealousy), drove a small ways, found a parking spot next to the ever-lush-with-green Gramercy Park and walked a few blocks to our destination.

Free Topped With Frosting

We love "free!" Free samples, free food, free admittance, if it is free, we are all over it. Well, this week, "free" comes topped with frosting. On April Fool's Day, the Cupcake Stop Truck will be giving away free coffee and cupcakes--no joke!

In celebration of Oren's Daily Roast coffee being served regularly, the Cupcake Stop Truck will give away 100 mini cupcakes and 100 cups of Oren's Special Blend coffee. Happening on 5th Avenue, between 22nd and 23rd, the Cupcake Stop Truck can also be found at this location every Tuesday and Thursday.

New Level of Organic at ABC Kitchen

Jean-Georges Vongerichten finally jumped on the organic bandwagon when he opened his organic, locally-sourced themed restaurant ABC Kitchen, inside the ABC Carpet & Home store. ABC Kitchen is a "farm-to-table" restaurant, using only sustainable and organic seasonal produce and pasture-fed animals to produce only the finest quality dishes, not to mention incredibly flavored.

February is Home to City Bakery's Hot Chocolate Festival

Move aside brownie, its hot chocolate's time to shine. Known for having the one of the best brownies in New York City, even making its own little cameo on Sex in the City, The City Bakery is also renown for their rich, decadent hot chocolates. Commencing February 1st, The City Bakery will host their 18th Annual Hot Chocolate Festival.

Everyday in February, The City Bakery will feature a different hot chocolate; they will kick off the event with their Lemon Hot Chocolate. Stop by on Tuesday, February 2nd for their Chili Pepper Hot Chocolate (that's if you can take the heat), or on the 7th for their sweet and creamy Caramel Hot Chocolate. If you're feeling fun, and a little naughty, try their Moulin Rouge Hot Chocolate on the 10th. After a long work week, get your hot chocolate spiked on the 12th and try their Bourbon Hot Chocolate. Valentine's Day hosts their Love Potion Hot Chocolate, just be careful who you drink it with. Join me on the 18th for their Darkest Dark Chocolate Hot Chocolate, because you better believe I would not miss out on anything with the words "dark chocolate" in it.
