Karofsky, I mean, Max definitely deserves this after his terrific work on Glee.
In the FOX hit Glee, actor Max Adler, who plays Dave Karofsky, has battled with his identity and being secretly homosexual through the last couple seasons of the show. In the moving winter finale , his character attempts suicide after being bullied and humiliated by his classmates.
All his hard work has paid off. Adler had recently landed a role in the new ABC pilot, Last Resort, with The Shield's creator, Shawn Ryan. His role is said to have been secured for the gifted actor.
The new show is said to be described as:
There has been no word as to who Adler will be playing but we are definitely anticipating this new show. Will you be tuning into the premiere of Last Resort?
Lea is taking a stand!
As many of you may know, or may not know, Lea Michele is a huge animal rights activist and has been championing the banning of horse and carriage rides in New York City for a while now. Well, it seems now that the Glee starlet is putting her foot down threatening not to return to the Big Apple if the poor horses are forced to be put through New York’s harsh winter.
She has attempted to reach out to New York’s mayor Mike Bloomberg several times regarding the issue. Here are a few of her tweets to Mayor Bloomberg:
"Please tweet to @MikeBloomberg if you agree that horse and carriages should no longer be on the busy streets of NYC. And let's end this."
"@MikeBloomberg please listen to the thousands of people who are saying that they no longer want horse & carriage rides in this city."
Being a New Yorker as well, we definitely understand Lea’s point of view. It is truly saddening to see those horses ride around all day in the scorching summers and the blistering cold winters. They always do look very sad.
The New Years Eve star later wrote:
"New York, u know how much I love you. But if I see another horse & carriage struggling in this winter weather I may not be able 2 be here."
The animals finally have someone speaking out for them. Good Job Lea! We are so proud! We think that everyone should join in and tweet Mayor Bloomberg asking him to ban carriage horses.
We will be sad not seeing Rachel Berry in NYC but we definitely support her 100%! TEAM LEA!!
Here's how it works: with the click of a button, you can receive instant updates from friends, celebrities, and public figures who want to share their thoughts with the the world.
Sound familiar?
The "subscribe" button, Facebook's most recent invention (besides its expected $10 billion IPO), is as close to a Twitter feed as you can get. But like Microsoft in the 90's, Facebook is capable of taking someone else's idea, relabeling it, and making it accessible to everyone.
You've always been subscribed to your friends: whenever one of them changes their status or posts a photo, it automatically pops up on your news feed. But with Facebook limiting personal accounts to five thousand friends (Angelina Jolie still hasn't accepted my friend request or my numerous phone calls), it can be difficult to keep track of your favorite athletes, movie stars, journalists, and web personalities. By clicking "subscribe," your news feed keeps you updated with any news they feel compelled to share.
While the computing power of Facebook allows its users to share more photos, links, and info than its compeTwitters (not to mention its newly-upped character limit of 63,206), the subscription service is new, and only a handful of celebrities are taking advantage. With its unequaled Facebook stalking skills, the Joonbug staff has compiled the Best Facebook Subscriptions thus far.
Arriving late Thursday night to a long line outside of Lavo, hand picking attendees to join in on the festivities. Making my way inside to the dance floor was a feat in itself, as the club was packed to the rims with the hottest hipsters New York City has to offer. One more trendier than the next, I slithered through the already toasty crowd, all donning a mixed drink in hand. All dressed to impress, party goers were dancing so wild there was barely an inch to move anywhere in the club.
Almost as if it were a cult following, all eyes turned to the DJ booth around 1am when the 1997 DMC World DJ Championship winner, A-Trak opened his set. Never disappointing, the turn-table genius gave the crowd an energetic and diverse tracklist that kept Lavo's walls pulsating until the wee hours of Friday morning. Playing remixes of songs by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kid Cudi, along with a nod to mega DJ Avicii playing his 2011 club anthem Levels layering vocals by hip hop artists Rick Ross and Lil' Wayne kept the crowd guessing all night long. It didn't matter which track A-Trak decided to throw into the mix, the crowd jumped and sang along to every one.
The long-awaited "losing their virginity" episode of Glee finally aired last night on FOX.
Did it live up to your expectations? Was it worth the wait? Was it satisfying? Was it too short? Oh and did you like the episode too? Ha.
(I, your trusty editor & quidnunc, apologize in advance for the utter fangirliness of this article, with the last one I recall to be that Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows piece back in June. I call it the Tumblr Curse.)
Guess America loves them a little scare. FX renews the show that gave them their highest premiere ever.
Ever since its debut, American Horror Story had definitely brought fear back to TV. The show introduces a troubled family that arrives to a new home, blatantly unaware that the house itself has the same issue. The estate is aptly known as the “Murder House” being that many people were violently murdered in the location. Throughout the season, the family is revisited by ghosts and the shows also has flashbacks to some of the gruesome occurrences in the house. It is definitely a show that keeps the viewers on the edge of their seat every week and we love it!
With the creators of Glee and Nip/Tuck behind it all, it isn’t hard to see why the show is a hit. Here is what FX president John Landgraf had to say about the show being renewed for a new season: "It’s one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience — it’s something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up.”
"Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck, Glee & now American Horror Story, which will be scaring FX’s viewers to death for many years to come."
With such a steamy cast, there was bound to be some hook-ups.
Alex Pettyfer was seen smooching it up with Elvis’ granddaughter and his Magic Mike co-star Riley Keough while waiting to depart LAX Airport on October 8th.
Seems like Ms. Keough has Alex smitten too. E! claims the I Am Number Four actor was terrified of flying and had even considered driving from L.A. to Florida for 48 hours straight where they were to continue filming for the movie. Then he sporadically decided to jump on the plane with the blonde beauty. Guess she has the magic touch to calm those nerves.
As many of you may know, Lea Michele is Barbara Streisand’s biggest fan.
Back in January, Lea sat down with People Magazine and explained why she adored Barbra. She stated, “I grew up in this typical New Jersey town where everyone looked the same. If you didn't have a nose job, you were about to. Agents and casting directors told me to get one, but my mother said, Barbra Streisand never did - and neither are you.”.
Well Lea got the surprise of a lifetime. On Monday, the Glee starlet tweeted, “Currently watching Hoarders and this man has a Barbra Streisand Barbie!!! Where is this man and how can I get my hands on that doll!!!!!!”.
A few days later, the Funny Girl herself personally tweeted Lea, “@msleamichele Forget the guy. I'm sending you the doll. But I want a Lea Michele doll when it comes out!”. Wow! We can only imagine Lea’s excitement!
Lea then tweeted back, “@BarbraStreisand DEAL!! Ps I adore you:) ” Later on, the Fox star tweeted how completely overjoyed she was writing, “ Am I dreaming or did @BarbraStreisand just tweet me? I just died. I'm literally dead on the floor...This officially is the best day ever.”
So happy for her! It must feel incredible to have your inspiration reach out to you. Who knows, maybe someday they’ll have the chance to work together...?
Attention Gleeks!
Not only can Mr. Schue dance, act, and sing, but now he's showing off his directing skills.
This weekend, Glee’s Matthew Morrison performed at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and gave fans a nice surprise. The actor reveals that he will be making his directorial debut this season on the FOX hit!
The actor - famous for playing McKinley's hot Spanish teacher - has kept mum about the episode's plot; however, we do know that it will be the eighth episode and will air in November.
Morrison has definitely proven himself to be a star this year. Glee has continued to be a success, he's released his debut album (featuring collaborations with Gwyneth Paltrow, Sting, and Elton John) and is even shooting his new movie What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Now he can add 'director' to that lovely resume of his.
We know we are looking forward to seeing this episode. What about you guys? Think you’ll tune in to see Mr. Schue's magic behind the camera?
Say a happy birthday to Rachel Berry's cooler alter ego!
Lea Michele, born Lea Michele Sarfati, shot to stardom in 2009 thanks to the success of FOX musical dramedy Glee. We fell in love with Michele the minute we heard her character Rachel Berry belt out "On My Own" from Les Misérables during her audition.
Of course, the pitch-perfect triple threat didn't just luck into the coveted role, Lea Michele has been perfecting her chops on Broadway since she was 8 years old. Her breakout role was playing Wendla in Duncan Sheik's musical adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Spring Awakening.
