Earlier news on the Gotti movie had Lindsey Lohan back on the roster for the film and finally in a solid role. She was officially slated to play Victoria Gotti, John Gotti Jr.’s wife. This week, it’s Kelly Preston’s time to shine as news of her casting as the role of John Gotti Sr.’s wife, Victoria DiGiorgio, hits the internet. The man filling Gotti’s shoes? None other than her own husband, John Travolta.
Those in charge of casting laud Preston’s acting ability. She seems perfect for the role of loving and passionate wife and should play off of John extremely well. One more thing Preston and DiGiorgio have in common is that they both lost a son at a very early age—a tragedy that will be explored in the film. The couple should be a very dynamic pair on the silver screen.
When she showed up at the movie's April 12 press conference, we were pretty sure that she would get the role of Victoria Gotti in the upcoming Gotti biopic. Well, she's not.
"We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria," says Marc Fiore, producer of Gotti: Three Generations. "She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people [for the role]."
John Travolta who will play the role of Gotti Sr. even said that she was "gorgeous and talented." So is she too expensive? Or is it because of her legal problems that she's been bumped out the project?
"She a wonderful person," Fiore tells PEOPLE. "Her legal case has nothing to do with it. We just couldn't reach terms."
