Boy are we excited for Halloween! We've never been ones to believe this holiday was exclusive to pint size trick-or-treaters; we've put way more time and effort into our costumes as adults. Now that we have a choice, you know. We have patiently waited for this season all year long and now that it is here we want to make sure you go out in the city looking fabulous and feeling comfortable. It can be a bit tricky in this winter-approaching weather. Everyone has somewhere to go; a costume party with friends or, if you're lucky, Joonbug's 10th annual Halloween Masquerade party! So before you go insane standing in line at your favorite costume shop, take these helpful tips and ideas into consideration for creating that prize winning costume.
1. Red Bull, to keep you fueled until the wee hours of the morning. I also suggest a straw, to avoid having to reapply lipstick, and leaving a gross looking lip stain on the edge.
2. Eyelash glue, because there is nothing more unattractive than being denied a kiss by that cute boy dressed as Zorro because your false eyelash is stuck to your cheek.
3. Fold up flats by Yosi Samra. These double as the quickest way to get from party to party, and a comfortable way to get home. (Plus, you can point and laugh at all of the tipsy girls tipping over in their heels without being one!)
To be honest, I have no clue why this cocktail is called ‘Black Cat’; ‘Purple Cat’ would be a better fit perhaps. But the sweet blue curacao, strong pure vodka and lime soda with the refreshing taste of cranberry juice, does make a nice tasting cocktail to get the party started on this hollows’ eve.
Ingredients:
1 shot blue curacao
1 shot vodka
3 shots lemon lime soda
1 shot cranberry juice
½ shot fresh squeezed lime juice
Preparation:
Tucked away on a busy Manhattan street lies a cozy café oozing with New England charm. L.A. Burdick has been giving chocophiles the fix they've been craving for over 23 years. Founder Larry Burdick began making chocolates and honing his craft in the Mecca of confectionary, Switzerland. Lucky for us, he brought his passion for chocolate making stateside with a New York location of this chocolate haven.
Sourcing the finest ingredients from around the world, like cocoa beans from Grenada and vanilla from Tahiti, L.A. Burdick elevates the chocolate from a mere bar to a full-on sensory experience. “I’ve tried to combine a French gastronomic sensibility with Swiss know-how and American imagination,” says Burdick.
If you thought Jersey's ongoing presence in the media couldn't get any more paramount - think again. HBO's newest series, Boardwalk Empire, marks yet another show that encompasses tales of the Garden State. This prohibition-era program, however, pays homage to the Jersey Shore in a much classier - and less shameless - way than our favorite GTL'ers from MTV.
Scorsese fans and HBO enthusiasts alike tuned in to the premiere in late September, and were quickly enthralled by wardrobes as eye-catching and mesmerizing as the eerily nostalgic cinematography.
Saturday, October 30 from 11am-11:55pm thousands of Zombies will fill the streets of Asbury Park to shock the living. Hit the ‘ZombieCon’ early for artwork, clothing and merchandise from 35 different vendors. Get the Zombie look from professional makeup artists from 11am- 3pm.
During the walk remain in character. That would mean grunting, groaning, moaning, lurching, and dragging. This Zombie walk is free. Asbury Park could use all the bodies they can get if they are even going to attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records set by Seattle, WA. Can Asbury Park beat 4,200 Zombies? Maybe with your help.

If you're planning on having a Halloween Party this year I hope you've got a sweet tooth cause this recipe is right up your alley. Campfires and s'mores have always been a staple in American history as a fabulous fall sensation and we've found a way to bring the sweet inside in bite sized pieces.
These White Ghost S'mores (courtesty of InStyle Magazine) are so delicious they might just put you off the real thing. (I said might).
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (approx. 1 14oz box)
1/4 tsp salt
4 tbsp sugar
2 sticks of softened butter
4 slightly beaten egg yolks
