When you first hear the news on Will Smith and Jay Z teaming up with Calvin Harris to produce a new HBO series centered around the EDM culture, it leaves one scratching their head in slight confusion. Not to mention, this new series have been confirmed to be a comedy. There have always been an abundance of documentaries or recap videos trailing the life of DJs and the EDM revolution, but this new series titled, Higher, is a step beyond that.
The premise of this new series is going to be a half-hour comedy show that will undoubtedly have superstar DJ names attached to it. Hip Hop mogul Jay Z and actor Will Smith will be amongst the main executive producers for this show, with superstar DJ himself, Calvin Harris, there to help develop the series.
Fans of Entourage have been waiting a long time to see if the TV show was ever going to be made into a movie, and now, they finally have an answer. The show’s creator Doug Ellin tweeted on October 28, along with a picture of the cast, “It’s a go. love you all.”
Although Warner Bros. gave the film the green light back in January, there were rumors that some of the actors were holding out for more money. All five leading guys from the show including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven have all signed on to star in the film.

The recent cancellation of HBO's new series Luck, spawned by three consecutive horse deaths during filming, has refueled fires amongst activists working with NY CLASS, an organization which seeks to stop the use of horse-drawn carriages for the unsafe conditions associated with the city's famed hansom cabs. This march, after HBO's decision to cancel Luck, activists working for the organization, aware of the grim realities for animal safety in the horse-drawn carriage industry, voiced this powerful statement in reaction to the premium network's decision to cease production after animals endured harm and were even killed during the filming:
