Celebrate 15 Years with Imago Beauty Group

Imago Beauty Group in Hoboken, NJ is hosting their 15th Anniversary event, so they're inviting the fashion-set to come celebrate with them on Friday, March 15th! A variety of services will be offered, followed by an ultra-cool cocktail event. Imago has many NJ clients as well as New Yorkers who enjoy taking a trip into Hoboken for the salon's hair care and then take advantage of the wonderful local boutiques and restaurants.

Joonbug likes Imago because they always have their pulse on products that are actually good for your hair and not laden with drying additives! AVEDA and L'Occitane products will be 20% off all day and all PHYTO will be Buy 1, Get 1 for 1/2 price! From 2 to 7pm they will also be having their Guest Appreciation Day. They will offer guests complimentary services, such as paraffin hand dips, aromatic steam towels, makeup finishing touches, and more! Imago welcomes visitors to just stop by or book an appointment (just in case it becomes super busy).

BEST OF
The Melting Pot: Hoboken

Recently, Joonbug decided to stop by the Melting Pot in Hoboken, NJ. Though the chain is pretty much iconic, this location is known for supporting the Hoboken community through things like Breast Cancer Awareness month events, hosting the Hoboken Comedy festival and hosting unique outdoor dining experiences (such as "dine with your dog"). We wanted to check in with them to see what's currently taking place!

As we entered the restaurant overlooking a glittering view of the Empire State Building across the Hudson river, we were greeted by a massive wall of delicious wines. The sleek and modern interior is a great place to find refuge from the hustle and bustle of the area. This restaurant is always infused with the tempting aromas of cheese and chocolate! Various menu options include Cheese Fondue (cheese fondue is made with unique and seasonal ingredients or your choice of any of their other flavorful cheeses); Salad (options include Caesar, Spinach Mushroom, California); Entrée (your choice of one of their showcased entrées includes a variety of steak, chicken and seafood accompanied by homemade dipping sauces and vegetables); Chocolate Fondue; consisting of white, chocolate, dark chocolate and assorted fruits such as strawberries and deserts to dip in the chocolate. Our favorite is the Ying & Yang dessert fondue which includes both white and dark chocolates (pictured below).

DELICIOUS DEBUTS
Kolo Klub Serves Bourbon Fueled Cocktails

The relatively new Kolo Klub, located above Pilsener Haus & Biergarten, in Hoboken, is all about the cocktails. With super mixologists straight from NYC, the bartenders here sure know how to whip up a mean drink. September is National Bourbon Month and luckily enough this cocktail den knows all about booze- especially bourbon. Try their Old Fashioned ($12) made with Jim Beam Rye/Bourbon, angostura bitters and garnished with a cherry and orange wedge or opt for their classic Manhattan ($12), which is comprised of Jim Beam Rye/Bourbon, sweet vermouth, angostura bitters and garnished with a cherry or lemon twist. Both cocktails can be made with Makers 46 or Knob Creek Rye for an additional charge. So celebrate bourbon like it’s going out of style at Kolo Klub!

Kolo Klub is Hoboken's Newest Lounge

If you’re looking for an outsider’s perspective of the Manhattan’s skyline, we suggest crossing the river to Hoboken. From Andrej Ivanov and Ladislav Sebestyan comes Kolo Klub, Hoboken’s first craft-cocktail den on the second floor loft of Pilsener Haus.

Located in uptown Hoboken in a turn of the century building, the 4,000 sq. ft. rooftop lounge is only accessible via private elevator. The lounge features vaulted wooden ceilings and rows of windows that offer a scopious view of the Manhattan skyline. Guests will notice the unique logo, designed after the name of the bar itself, Kolo, being the Czech word for bicycle.

BAR CRAWL
2009 Hoboken Santa Fest

Christmas comes but once a year, and packed in Santa's sack of toys is one of Hoboken's most exciting Christmas traditions, The Hoboken SantaFest. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Hoboken SantaFest; bringing holiday cheer and extreme amounts of booze to all those involved. SantaFest is a Christmasthemed bar crawl that will take place on Dec. 12th from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. No sign up is necessary; all you have to do to participate is wear a holiday costume.

The majority of men attending the Hoboken SantaFest dress as ol' St. Nick, although any holiday themed consume will do. Ladies are invited to dress as Ms. or Mrs. Claus, an elf, or even a seductive reindeer! Creative versions of classic costumes are always appreciated and encouraged. Last year, even some penguins came out to celebrate, so feel free to put your imagination to the test.
