We had a chance to talk to Markus this past weekend while he was in Gainesville, Florida, just a few hours from his home in Miami. Markus chatted about his experience on the Groove Cruise, what it’s like working with Ferry Corsten, and his awesome fans.

Ultra Music has just launched its newest video series titled "Above & Beyond the clouds...a personal journey through the white island." The footage takes dance music aficionados through the famed island of Ibiza during the hottest summer club season in the world.
The first in the series features Above & Beyond who look back on their cherished memories and remember how the island has influenced their sound and what makes it such a special place to celebrate a love of dance music. Opening with saying "Our roots are really... very much on this island. There's so much history we've been coming here for so many years now," it's clear that Ibiza serves as a heavenly place for just about everyone.
Sean Paul is fresh from the One Love Peace Festival Summer tour that saw him through Portugal, Rome, Naples, Cape Verde, Germany, London, Bristol, South Cyprus, Canada and the non-stop party island of Ibiza. Not content to rest on his laurels, Sean Paul is set to begin touring in support of his fifth studio album, Tomahawk Technique, in December in the United States and across Europe.
Armed with a new look and energized passion for music, the past year has produced a creative outburst from Sean. This is seen through his emergence as a producer, in which he helmed the track "Roll Wid di Don." Also, working with artists like Cecile, Tami Chynn, Mr. Vega, and Wayne Marshall on his critically acclaimed Riddim album "Blaze Fia," and the follow up album "Material" has been matched by a stream of new music and collaborations with artists including Pitbull, T-Pain, Ludacris, Bob Sinclair, CongoRock, Mya and Kelly Rowland.
Miss out on Ibiza this year? Never fear, because the very young and talented Spanish DJ/producer Danny Avila will be launching his very own brand new weekly radio show called ‘Ready to Jump’ on Sirius XM’s Electric Area. Avila’s music has been making its way all throughout Ibiza’s legendary nightlife this summer.
Danny has worked with such electronic dance music superstars as Fedde le Grand, David Guetta, Afrojack, and Marin Solveig. At only 16, the rising prodigy got his start in dance music at just 12 years old, and has now earned himself the ‘Best Newcomer DJ Award’ at the Vicious Music Awards in 2011.
We’ve heard quite a few announcements of genre-crossing festival’s lately, with Jay-Z’s Made in America and the ever-evolving Lollapalooza. And while I’m definitely a fan of shaking up a festival lineup with a hip-hop artist or two, never in my wildest dreams would I pair EDM with classic rock - a move BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong has boldly made with his “Rocktronic Ibiza123” festival.
Despite my skepticism, Pete Tong’s word is my bible and I simply can not doubt a man with such an incredibly gifted ear for music. After more than 40 years of gracing the wavelengths with masterfully-crafted mixes, what the DJ extraordinaire says, goes. Rock on househeads!
