Miami Goes Hard In The Paint

The first act at the main stage was Demetrius who laid down his usual dutch house sounds. The young star was soon joined on stage by surprise superstar producer, guest, and father, Timbaland. Although we enjoyed the surprise visit, MC shout outs don’t mesh well with the natural flow of electronic music and by the end of his blabber we were ready for more tunes.

Icona Pop 'I Love It': The Remixes

Let's hear it for the girls! Sassy electropop DJ duo, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo are Icona Pop. They're basically taking over the world one remix at a time with their hit single "I Love It."

Formed in 2010, these Swedish sweethearts have made quite some noise starting with their first single "Manners." Since then, they have exploded onto the music scene with their latest Iconic EP and are planning to release a debut album in 2013 (which we seriously cannot wait for). But, in the meantime, you can enjoy the twelve remixes that were just released on Big Beat Records. Here are our faves, do you love them?

Mixtape Mondays 005

It's no doubt that electronic music has caught the attention of the masses. Since the recent explosion of the genre in 2011, it seems that just about everyone has embraced it. Whether its 'deep house' to 'tropical trap rap' to 'moombahton' the genres continue to expand with a now more than ever diverse roster of seriously mind bending choices. We rounded up a mix of twelve songs that are worthy of so much play time it's ri-dic-u-lous.

Mint Tracks: New Azealia Banks, Animal Collective and more!

Azealia Banks - Jumanji

Prepping for the release of her debut album 1991, Banks released another track this week, laying to rest any doubts of her abilities. With a killer beat by Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook, the track is as fresh as it is familiar. Banks also lays it down, and with authority. The only thing that can make this track any better is the music video.

Icona Pop - I Love It

Hailing from Stockholm, this electro-pop duo has come out with some fun. A lot of fun. With a huge, in your face electro sound and vocals to stomp along with/to, Icona Pop may have come out with a "song of the pre-summer" with this one...

Kitsune Music about to release a tenth Maison compilation

Some have probably recognized the traditional collage which illustrates the record cover. Founded in 2002, Kistune was first a fashion brand, and a good one. This project was created by Gilas Loaec, Masaya Kuroki, and the London based company Abake. These guys did not only want to sell clothes, but music too. They just can't refrain from doing good work, lucky we.

Klaxons, Simian Mobile Disco, Hot Chip, Hadouken, Digitalism, Bloc Party, Boys Noize, Crystal Castles, Phoenix, La Roux and so much more worked for the Japanese fox. Kitsune indeed means "fox" in the far east country. They chose this name because Japanese legends say foxes could instantaneously change their appearance. Kistune records do have a lot of different (but very chic) appearances from indie rock to noisy electro. Every compilation is more successful than the older one.
