The hot DILF’s (yes, that's Dad I'd Like To...well, ya know) of new film What to Expect When You’re Expecting have sparked us to think about what it takes to be a sartorially savvy dad in these modern times. Every guy has the opportunity to own great style and just because you don't remember what sleep is doesn't mean you should scrimp on your fashion choice. Really, it's the perfect opportunity to expand your newfound attractiveness that is a cute dad with his cute kid. Although the baseball cap and basic tee might have worked a few years ago, 2012 calls for a much more fashion-forward effort. To make sure you’re the hottest DILF on the block, check out our handy summer shopping guide below.
A big trend for spring and summer is colorful denim with prints and patterns. We love this look because it can be incorporated into multiple styles. Here are a few of our favorites to get your fashionable hands on this season! Check them out and see which style suits you best. Spice up your wardrobe with a fun and vibrant pair of denim this season!
Vertically striped pants look great on anyone because of their slimming and elongating effect. We also love the bright colors that pump up an otherwise simple look. Find them in high-end brands like Current/Elliot, or for more affordable prices like the Moto Tapered Stripe Jeans from Topshop.
Although Fashion Week is officially over, we’re expecting to see brand new Fall 2012 collections from many other style savvy brands for weeks to come. Last night was a perfect example. J Brand Jeans celebrated the launch of their premiere ready-to-wear collection for Fall 2012, hosted by Bergdorf Goodman’s celebrated 5F contemporary floor. If you’re looking for good style or a place to showcase your good style after fashion week—it’s at events like these. Not only did Bergdorf enlist popular fashion bloggers Kimberly Pesch from eat.sleep.wear and Natalie Suarez from Natalie Off Duty to attend wearing pieces from the new J. Brand collection, they brought all of their fashionable friends with them.

Best Under $100: Gap 1969 Skinny Boot Jean
Slim fitting through the hip and thigh; this low rise pair flares at the calf into a classic boot cut. The slender fit above the knee that gives way to a gradually wider cut elongates your silhouette and, paired with the dark indigo wash, flatters almost all body types. Flap pockets on the rear are especially accentuating for those of us with ‘less junk in the trunk’. Simple and clean, these jeans are all about value. For under $70, you pretty much can’t go wrong.
What woman doesn't want to workout in style? Shedding pounds while looking fabulous, and giving others at the gym something to talk about. Well now you can, WWD reports that J Brand is launching a full sportswear collection, which is set to hit shelves Spring 2012. Colors include the basic black, grey, white and pale pastels.
Hold on tightly to your treadmills ladies, the line is expected to launch in only 60 of the brand's 2,500 retail locations. You like wearing your wedged sandals with flared jeans. But there is one problem --so does everyone else! Looking like a clone is not a good look. So how do work wedges with pants for a more original look?
Cropped, slouch fit, chino pants, (such as the one's worn by Reese Witherspoon, pictured left) make a great summer alternative to denim. J Brands Inez cropped chino, when worn with a turn up, works perfectly with a wedged shoe. To look even more on trend, wear, ‘Sun faded pomegranate’ -a bubblegum shade of pink. For those who cannot stay away from denim, boyfriend fit jeans, in non-distressed shades work well. Once again, ensure to wear with a turn up, to expose a sexy glimpse of ankle.
Even though the Canadien retailer Aritzia has been opening stores in the United States, it was just announced that a new store location is coming to New York City. They currently have a temporary location for now, but a permanent store will open in SoHo in May.
Aritizia is a vertically integrated multi-label retailer typically for women ages 18 to 25. There are eight brands that are produced in house, including J Brand and Rag & Bone. They are said to be completely independent from each other yet complement the other brands as well. The brands are not private label. They haven’t been sold to other stores yet, but plans are made for being wholesale eventually.
As expected, the designers of Proenza Schouler took repetitive looks from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and made them a bit more cooler. Black, oversized knit sweaters, flared hems and printed pretty frocks were expected - yet, those darn Proenza boys continuously bring an edge towards the end of each fashion week. Check out 3 reasons why I died [in a good way, of course] over the show:
1. Inkblot trousers by Christopher Wool with similar leggings in tow will always hold a warm spot in my heart. And, I don't think I can necessarily wait until fall.
