Noah Tepperberg & Jason Strauss host Tiesto's 43rd birthday celebration tonight at LAVO! We know, 43 years, we can't believe it either. This is set to be one of the biggest, most exclusive parties of the year, requiring "red carpet approval" to even buy a ticket. Tiësto was born Tijs Michiel Verwest in Breda, North Brabant, Netherlands on January 17, 1969. He started DJing at the age of 14 at local school parties. In 1985 through 1994 he was a resident DJ at several clubs in the Netherlands. He played weekend sets from 10pm-4am at a small nightclub called The Spock in Breda, where he was really able to settle into a style of his own.

It all began a few years back with a tiny pizza place on East 14th Street where Artichoke Basille's quickly developed a devout fan base. After all, when Keith Richards plays "air guitar" after tasting a slice, you know it must be something special. Soon after, in the Spring of 2008, cousins Francis Garcia and Sal Basille partnered with Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss (owners of Marquee, Tao, and Lavo) to open their flag ship location on the corner of Tenth Avenue and 17th Street. "This location features sit down dining and has a new non-pizza menu consisting of unique heros, pasta dishes, and also serve's wine, champagne, and over 20 types of beer including Artichoke's own brew."
Owned by Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss, partners in Manhattan's Marquee and Tao and LAVO in Las Vegas, it's no wonder that Avenue is one of the most glamorous, exclusive clubs in the city. This supper club has served A-listers like Madonna and Beyonce, but is more well known for their post-midnight crowd of top models and party elite. With a strict door, and even stricter dress code (no shorts on guys. EVER.), be assured that inside the doors of this bi-level club, you'll find some of the best looking people in town.
Trepperberg calls it a "gastro-lounge," a mix between a bar that serves food, no dance floor, with lots of seating and a DJ booth. In the beginning, this unmarked door didn't require purchasing a bottle, but with word getting out of Avenue's heat, you'll be lucky to get past the door without some serious connections, or serious cash.

After his sold-out show at The Pearl in the Palms, Jay-Z joined his wife Beyonce to celebrate the end of his tour and party into the morning. Joined by Young Jeezy (who was a special guest during Jay-Z's concert) and Larry Johnson of the Washington Redskins, the hip-hoptourage headed over to Tao in The Venetian. Co-owner Jason Strauss was excited to say that Tao's records were broken that night with 1,400 diners at the restaurant and 7,000 parties at the nightclub.
Las Vegas pulled a Titanic, sweeping this week's 2010 Nightclub & Bar Awards. Vegas' sinful sanctuaries took home all of the big wins and walked away with seven of the Top 10 sports and eleven of the Top 15!
There were more than 235 entries competing in fourteen categories at the 25th annual Awards sponsored by the magazine Nightclub & Bar. A panel of judges each had to select their top three choices from the lists which they submitted and were then relegated into the categories. There will be an official ceremony at Lavo in the Palazzo on March 5 to honor the winners.
