What a coincidence it is that two of our absolutely favorite times of the year are so close together: New York Fashion Week and St. Patrick’s Day ! It may not seem to you that the two go hand and hand, but you would be surprised. How so? Well, although green was not the "IT" color of Fashion Week, we identified the most fashionable shade of green with Pantone as Cypress green. This gorgeous ethereal color appeared on over half of our runway shows and is going to be popping up in our fave stores all over the place. We love this color; it looks so sophisticated and elegant. Cypress the most trend setting gorgeous way to sweeten up your wardrobe and get ready to show off your Irish pride (real or fake!).
Prince George was christened at the Chapel Royal in St. James Palace on October 23. Guests at the intimate affair included members of the royal family and Kate Middleton’s family, as well as the Prince’s seven godparents.
Not included on the list of the Prince’s godparents were Prince William’s brother, Prince Harry, and the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton. Many assumed that they would be named godparents to their nephew.
Prince William’s cousin, Zara Tindall, is the only royal that was chosen as a godparent. The royal couple decided to break tradition and instead have close friends of theirs serve as godparents instead.
Although Prince Harry and Pippa were not chosen as godparents they still took part in the christening by each reading a Bible verse also known as a “lesson.”
City dressing is all about versatility and being able to go from day to night. This flattering dress from DVF Diane Von Furstenberg will certainly take you from the office and beyond. We love the retro-inspired print. Top the look off with the jacket of the season -- a leather moto-jacket by All Saints.
It's fun to keep it chic. Who says that classic lines aren't sexy? We can't begin to tell you how many compliments this model received as she strutted down the Bloomingdale's runway in this amazing Tahari tweed sheath dress. The makeup artist added a bold fuchsia lip for added appeal. A Fendi purse in a pop of color and Marc by Marc Jacobs statement necklace completed this look. Don't be shy and add edgy accessories, such as these leather grommet-detailed gloves.
Leather can now be worn to the office and beyond. This Hugo Boss leather skirt was to-die-for . The color of the skirt and the the way it was cut is so flattering on the body. This model rocked the look with a pretty Gerard Darel blouse and Links of London layered necklaces. Links of London is a brand favored by Kate Middleton and the pieces were gorgeous.
A wool fedora is such a great way to add a little mystery to your fall look. Think "undercover chic." This colorblock jacket by Marc by Marc Jacobs was a real head-turner. Many who attended the runway event were saying that they wanted this piece. Joonbug adores Marc Jacobs and all of his designs, so we also are a fan. With a slight military influence, but with an air of added whimsy with accent colors in burgundy, blue and tan this warm jacket can be worn with many outfits. The skinny jeans with patch accents are also by Marc by Marc Jacobs. The burgundy/wine color Ray Ban shades the model wore are perfect for fall!
Another notice-me look was the Ted Baker London ensemble. Florals can also be worn into fall. We saw this as this look graced the runway. The skirt was gorgeous and can definitley be styled to reflect your personality. If you wear the skirt with a leather jacket, you can make the look more street chic; or you could give it that upscale Park Ave. feel with a blazer and a chain-link bag. Ted Baker London has a great collection for fall including a chic tan coat we noticed.
With designers such as Givenchy and Stella McCartney creating gorgeous peplum style dresses, it's easy to see why your favorite celebrities have been spotted hitting the town in this ultra-chic design. Dianna Agron, Kim Kardashian, Kate Middleton, Olivia Wilde and Victoria Beckham are just some of the gorgeous ladies that have been seen rocking the hottest peplum frocks.
With the fall season approaching, this is definitely a style that many women can wear. Looking like a lady is fun again -- consider this attractive look "dress-up for adults." Think polished, sophisticated and lady-like. The variations in the design of the dresses, including the cuts and fabrics make them quite stylistically interesting. This flattering silhouette is undoubtedly sexy and you can easily with the addition of accessories add allure. Retro-looks were seen all over the runways from designers such as Alice and Olivia to more budget friendly brands such as bebe. Velvet is also very popular once again this fall as you will notice many designers featuring velvet throughout their Fall/Winter 2012 collections!
On their cover story, Us Weekly claims Pippa Middleton was at the center of a gun scandal after she and her friends went out partying last weekend.
After celebrating a friends birthday at a raucous bash in Paris until 5 a.m., paps spotted Pips leaving in a convertible with friends. The driver then took out what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol and aimed it at a celeb photographer! Sitting in the passenger seat, Pippa Middleton laughed at the stunt and is now in hot water. We doubt anybody's laughing now, especially her in-laws!
Kate Middleton was thrust onto the fashion scene whether she wanted to be or not, once news broke of her engagement to Prince William. The Dutchess of Cambridge has been acclaimed for her perfectly put-together and lady-like ensembles. Several blogs have spawned with the mission of documenting (and helping you copy) Mrs. Kate's every stylish move including dutchessofcambridgestyle.org, katemiddletonstyle.org and whatkatewore.com. Kate's looks even inspired countless Halloween costumes this year.
2011 has been an incredible year, sartorially speaking. From Anne Hathaway's eight costume changes at the Academy Awards to Diane Kruger...well, whenever the woman puts on clothes, a few of the ladies that didn't make the cut were this close. Ultimately, we decided that the criteria to make Joonbug's "Top Looks of 2011" list lay within three very simple (and very visible) requirements: originality, memorability and game-change factor. Once we began to whittle down our large list, we found that very few looks - no matter how much we loved them - fit these requirements.
Isn't it time for another royal invasion? Will & Kate left way too soon!
Never fear, Royal Wedding fans: Prince Harry, 26, is coming to the United States! England's most famous little brother is prepping for a three-month stay.
Harry's spokesman Nick Loughran has confirmed with the Daily Mail that the second heir to the throne will arrive both in California and Arizone to attend Apache helicopter training courses (the job entails operators to use the helicopters to hunt and destroy tanks). After he has completed training, Prince Harry will officially become an Apache pilot and could possibly be re-positioned back in Afghanistan, despite being pulled out in 2007 after the foreign media found out about his location.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have landed in Los Angeles. It's official: William and Kate are on American soil!
Eep! As you can tell, yours truly is a fan. Ah, can't help it; weddings, fairytales, royalty, fortune...don't we all dream of that as children (and adults)? Today, 07/08/2011, the hot couple arrived in LAX to begin their first U.S. tour as husband and wife.
The adorable pair had just finished their visit from Canada, yet neither seem to show any signs of jetlag. Simply picturesque, as if they graced the pages of I'm Awesome magazine. Prince William donned a clean dark blue suit while English rose Kate (ahem, Duchess Catherine) wore a simple yet chic lavendar dress and perfectly paired it off with nude-colored pumps. The Duke and Duchess were immediately given a delightful welcome from Governor Jerry Brown, his wife Anne, and Antonio Villaraigosa -- the mayor of Los Angeles. Anne presented Kate with a lovely bouquet of red, white & blue flowers.
