Not long after 8pm, when the drinks were flowing in full swing, hometown heroes The Chainsmokers took the stage and were met with a whole lot of NYC love. The duo, consisting of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, launched right into a happy, high-energy set of The Chainsmokers remixes, originals, and current favorites. They wowed the crowd with their remixes of 'Jealous' by Chromeo and 'Take Me Home' by Cash Cash, and got amazingly positive feedback when they played some new music they've been working on, including an absolutely beautiful collaboration with Adrian Lux. Naturally, things took a turn for the hilariously narcissistic when The Chainsmokers hit the crowd with their insanely popular single, '#Selfie.' A group of people lucky enough to receive their own '#Selfie' held them up high when The Chainsmokers took a group sized '#Selfie' while on stage, before losing the frames, and their minds, to a tremendous trap edit of the iconic track. Needless to say, the crowd was amped up and a chilled out groove was in order.

As New yorkers brave the cold and eagerly await a blissfull spring, a slew of your favorite stars gathered across the pond for the 2014 Brit Awards, which took place in London on Feburay 19th, and Glam Damnit is bringing you the bes dressed of the evening including Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, One Direction, and Katy Perry.
Having performed live at the 2014 BRIT Awards just a few hours ago, Disclosure, Lorde and AlunaGeorge's grand spectacle is now on YouTube and ready to break the internet. Word broke out toward the end of January that Lorde and Disclosure had been plotting when the BRIT Awards tweeted a photo of the New Zealand singer, decorated with the Disclosure face.
Lorde, clad in a sparkling black gown, opens up the stage with "Royals." Standing before a large, translucent screen projecting her face, it is impossible not to notice Guy and Howard waiting patiently in the background, preparing to make their grand entrance. By the 50 second mark, the brothers enter the scene by subtly playing "White Noise" beneath Lorde's passionate vocals.
The fusion of music and fashion has always been harmonious. And this Fashion Week, the music has been top notch. However, nobody killed it quite as well as Brit pop artist, ALUNAGEORGE, during the Rebecca Minkoff runway show.
Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2014 collection introduces the notion of modern practicality, opting for a simpler, more understated approach to dressing. With an emphasis on clean lines and harmonious separates, Minkoff’s vision of the contemporary woman shines through: She strikes a balance between masculine and feminine with confident ease.
The beauty looks were stunning - dark Lorde-esque lips with two tone nails and bodacious blow outs. The perfect metallics and patent accessories with gorgeous slouchy beanies stole the show and everyone is mad about plaid for next season! The collection redefines classic menswear through feminine colors and softer silhouettes. Tailored Crombie coats, boyish trousers, and sharp button-downs get the ladylike treatment as they are slimmed-down and shown in a palette of soft grey, petal pink, noble green, navy, and tobacco. The essence of the empowered working woman embodies everything Rebecca Minkoff designs and styles for. Effortlessly chic and totally tailored.
While Pharrell’s hat may have been the most popular thing on Twitter during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, there was also something else that had people talking. As viewers were watching Lorde perform and win some Grammys, they were also speculating about how old the 17-year-old really is. There are theories that the singer is older than what she claims to be.
To put the rumors to rest, a website called The Hairpin actually bought a copy of the singer’s birth certificate which lists her birthday as November 6, 1996 and her real name, Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor. The website paid $17.02 to obtain the copy of the certificate.
Another Grammy Night has come and gone, and with it the slew of victors dash into the limelight while the rest of the nominees head back to their other indicators of massive success. But The Grammy’s are about so much more than a statuette on your mantle. They’re an opportunity for artists, industry, and fans alike to wax poetic about who won, who should have won, and why the whole thing is just a big f*** up anyway. And, while you’re doing that, why not do so with champagne in hand? Bubbly and gossip flowed in droves this Sunday night at the Pandora Grammy Awards After-Party brought to you by StubHub, at CREATE Nightclub, all to the thumping beats of Adrian Lux’s SICK live DJ set…. And yes, dear reader, Joonbug was there.
Boom! And like that the 56th Annual Grammys were over!
