Super long hair has been making a comeback for a few months now, with celebrities rocking extensions on the red carpet and all. These extra long braids at Mara Hoffman’s runway show further indicate that long hair is a trend to follow and braids are clearly here to stay! And thanks to extensions this looks is easier to achieve than ever!
Because these braids are very sleek, we would recommend tape-in extensions like SHE by SO.CAP.USA because they have the flattest bond of all types of extensions available. The other great thing about tape-ins is that although they are a permanent type of extensions, they are reusable next time you need an extension touchup. Once the extensions are applied by a professional stylist at a salon, you can easily replicate the look at home.
If you're looking for a diverse mix of brassy accessories to flaunt all over NYC, then Erin Yogasundram is who you need to get in touch with. Making serious moves as the owner of the online store, ShopJeen, she has already taken the steps needed to become a successful entrepreneur at the mere age of twenty one.
“I have always had my hand in fashion in one way or another,” she told us of her different fashion phases. “When I was 12 I really liked Good Charlotte so I would hang out at Trash & Vaudeville a lot. Then I went through an Abercrombie & Fitch phase. I have been all over the board and my style is constantly changing.”

Yesterday, Mara Hoffman put on a memorable show with her fall ’12 RTW collection at the Lincoln Center's stage. It’s hard to say what kind of theme she was going for. She mixed more risk -taking patterns and accessories with more sophisticated, structured looks. However, she pulled it off, and the looks were fabulous. The talk around the town about Hoffman’s collection has been spilling over the edges and yesterday, so was the audience attending her show with supporters like Niles Barker, J. Alexander, and Whitney Port all sitting front and center to cheer her on.
Ends Today May 21, 2010- Open 10-6pm

Mara Hoffman Sample Sale with up to 80% off Resort and Spring Collections. Perfect pieces to add to your summer wardrobe
Mara Hoffman visually pleased her audience - it was very difficult to ignore her psychedelic inspiration throughout her Fall 2010 bevy. Floor-length dresses, short frocks, and body-conscious leggings in a variety of prints and colors made us wonder if we were peeking through a kaleidoscope.
Additionally, there were velvet burnouts, gunmetal jackets and a full range of colors from dark to light.
Oddly, the girls had white frosted hair at their roots, shimmering faces that made them glow, and killer shoes in tow - as they wobbled upon their platforms. We found it exceptionally futuristic.
If the starlets of the 1930’s and 40’s were alive today, they would dress in Kati Stern’s Venexiana. Although we waited in line for forty minutes to gain entrance into the show, we would have waited all day to see it again. Embellished sleeves, sweetheart necklines, backless dresses and basket weaved tops were a feature in Venexiana’s spring/summer 2010 collection. The hair was kept in a messy yet clean and chic twisted chignon, the make up was uncomplicated with a smokey eye and a soft pink lip, and jewelry was kept simple and often not in use. The simplicity was refreshing and helped to keep the focus on the garments themselves.
