It's been a big year for AN21, what with the release of 'Rebel' kicking things off early, Size Records hitting the Decade milestone of 100 releases, and an massive string of shows since and including Miami Music Week already under his belt. The young Swedish producer has been on rocket powered roller coaster ride of popularity and success since the release of his debut full-length album, People Of The Night, and he isn't stopping anytime soon. Now, on the even crazier ride that is the Size N/A Tour with Max Vangeli, Qulinez, and Third Party, AN21 is steadily making his way to the top of the dance music world.
After watching the promo video for #TheSwap, shown below, you can see that there will never again be another night like this. Whether you like the Funktion One sound and massive LED wall of Marquee New York, or the intimate, yet energetic playground that is LAVO, Size Records is going to make sure this is one for the record books.
Max Vangeli began his career with the international debut of his single “Gama” 2010 which gained the support of Pete Tong. He began touring all over the world and was dubbed as "one of the most promising artists in 2011" by MTV.
Vangeli has become one fo the major heavey weight DJS in the industry and has worked with the biggest names in EDM including Steve Angello and AN21. His track, "The Island" was named "Hottest Track in the World" by BBC Radio One's Zane Low. His track "Last Night Changed it All" debuted earlier last month and has become an international sensation. Along with Size Records, Vangeli has certainly cemented his place in the music world for many years to come.
Tom Swoon and Lush & Simon have teamed up to produce 'Ahead Of Us,' a gorgeous new tune due out March 10th on Ultra Music. The track is beautifully composed of soft violins and a gently strumming guitar underneath seductively raspy male vocals that tug directly on the heart strings as they sings of better days that are yet to come. When the beat finally hits, the melody washes over you with such powerful care-free happiness, the exhilarating rush will give you goosebumps.
Max Vangeli is a force to be reckoned with. Whether he’s climbing the dance charts with a signature remix of Ellie Goulding or Switchfoot, working with fellow DJs Tiesto or Steve Angello on a hot new club anthem, or jet setting around the globe from venue to venue, there’s always an elemental passion to every aspect of his persona. We recently had the chance to connect with Max via email to get some thoughts on his new single/collaboration with Danny Ray, “Grim”, which he just released January 27th on SIZE records, what kind of song inspires a remix & why he just can’t get enough of the road.
How did the collaboration with Danny Ray arise?
Danny has been a friend of mine for years and we finally just came up with an idea together and ran with it. It was a very smooth collaboration and I’m very happy with the outcome!
Due out January 20th, Rebel will mark the second release of 2014 on former Swedish House Mafia member Steve Angello's Size Records. AN21, a Size Records veteran with huge releases like 'Glow' and 'H8RS,' along with Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman, who made their way into the Size family after a phenomenal remix of AN21, Max Vangeli, and Tiesto's 'People Of The Night' featuring Lover Lover, have conspired to create a tried and true progressive house anthem of devastating proportions.
This was no typical Saturday in Central Park. The Upper East Side was about to get christened by rave kids of all kinds and most importantly, by 1/3 of the Swedish House Mafia, Mr. Steve Angello. He brought his expertise in doing what he does best to the Size Matters event and put on one of the most memorable EDM shows New York City had seen the entire summer.
Rumsey Playfield was home to the sold out, 'Size In The Park,' with Steve Angello headlining along with mates from his Size Records, Third Party, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, AN21 and Max Vangeli. Making their NYC debut, Third Party dropped a lot of their own tracks including, "Thank You," feat. Loleatta Holloway and their remix of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, "Otherside." An impressive set to say the least, Sunnery and Ryan created an elaborate tone playing funky house tracks that no music lover could deny. They dropped classics like Joe Brunning's "Now Let Me See You Work," and the most refreshing bootleg of the whole set, Hardwell's "Spaceman" vs. Ultra Nate's "Free.” After, AN21 and Max Vangeli hit the stage shining with a set heavy on beats with original tracks like, “People Of The Night,” (feat.Tiesto) and "Fresh Start."
