We Love high-end boutiques! We especially love the one’s who make it their mission to stock exclusive items!
On a recent trip to the Mecca of shopping areas: Melrose, we spotted Beckley, a store which we had walked past many times but never ventured into. Stepping inside, we took in the contemporary interior .The center of the store is conveniently made for lounging with a comfy, curved sofa and chairs. Perfect for kicking back and sipping your chilled bottle of -complementary- sparkling water, whilst trying on the stores designer threads.
The pieces we most coveted, were lace, neon underwear sets by Cosabella, Verbena Body Milk by Cie Lux and rose gold rings by the cool Aussie designers ‘Sass and Bide’. As for service? Polite, helpful and friendly without being aggressive.Perfection!
Yes, yes, New York City's Fashion Week kicks off this week and it's all about the Big Apple and the spring collections the designers will pop off. But, as usual, I'm looking out for my west coastians. October 15-19 are the dates to scratch in your planner or type into your smartphone calendars. While NYC is getting it in and LA residents await their own time in the spotlight, there is a little something for LA kids to nosh on simultaneously.
LA's own Fashion Night Out will be held September 10, 2010 at the Beverly Center at 5pm. As Fashion Night Out has taken on a national attack approach, LA's installment will include boutiques set up all over LA's most popular shopping districts: Melrose, South Robertson, West Third Street, Abbot Kinney as well as over in Silver Lake and Los Feliz neighborhoods. The Beverly Center will be packed to the gills with it's own vendors, champagne, discount coupons, celebrities and fashion shows. Hosted by will.i.am in conjunction with Vogue's Lisa Love and the mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, this event is going to LA a little fashion bump to hold them over until October.
Until then, enjoy all the wired images from NYC's big event. We'll be covering it of course, so stay tuned!
