The Office Audition Tapes

Sometimes, not getting hired for a gig is a blessing in disguise. Take these audition tapes from the casting of the first season of The Office, for example. Seth Rogen as Dwight? Can't see it. The role of the oddball beet farmer ultimately went to Rainn Wilson, but had Rogen landed the job his movie stardom may never have been. A world without Knocked Up? No thank you. It's a good thing Dunder Mifflin didn't want Rogen. Although, Steve Carell still managed to have a film career despite being cast on the show, so who knows?

Blonde Ambition

An unknown fact to many: feisty brunette Sofia Vergara is actually a blonde. The beautiful Latina, the highest paid actress on TV, is known to millions as the star of the hit comedy Modernas Gloria Delgado Pritchett. Yet she actually colors her hair for the role.

Vergara confessed, “When I first started acting, I would go to auditions and they didn’t know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent—but I had blonde hair. It was ignorance: they thought every Latin person looks like Salma Hayek. The moment I dyed my hair dark, it was 'Oh, she’s the hot Latin girl.' I loved it. I’d always felt a little 'too much' as a blonde, like a big-mouth version of Pamela Anderson. Being brunette toned me down a bit.”

'Modern Family' and 'Mad Men' Are Top Pick

From the opening monologue to the final award presented, this year's 62nd Primetime Emmy Award's really out did itself compared to previous years. The show that falls short at times easily has the ability to make viewer's feel restless and switch to a re-run of a show that by coincidence is one that is being recognized at the red carpet event. Fortunately, this year's show didn't actually feel like it was longer than the three hour span that it really is.

The Emmy Award Show started off with Jimmy Fallon singing a ballad with the help of some Glee cast members, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm from Mad Men, Betty White and Kate Gosselin. Fallon jumping into some beat up jeans with a bandana in his back pocket and singing Born to Run was the best part of the night and showed just how much Fallon wanted the night to be a success.
