This week, it’s Kelly Preston’s time to shine as news of her casting as the role of John Gotti Sr.’s wife, Victoria DiGiorgio, hits the internet. The man filling Gotti’s shoes? None other than her own husband, John Travolta.
Those in charge of casting laud Preston’s acting ability. She seems perfect for the role of loving and passionate wife and should play off of John extremely well. One more thing Preston and DiGiorgio have in common is that they both lost a son at a very early age—a tragedy that will be explored in the film. The long overdue movie about the iconic Frank Sinatra is finally in the works and will be directed by Martin Scorsese. Oscar-nominated screenwriter Phil Anderson will write the screenplay after a year’s worth of research. Universal Pictures and Mandalay Pictures will be behind the production and it will be an unconventional biopic, according to co-producer and President of Mandalay Pictures, Cathy Shulman. She suggests that it won’t be the typical cradle to the grave story, but more like a collage and in many ways an album.
