When a world leader and advocate of peace passes away, the world obviously awaits with bated breath to see what Paris Hilton has to say on the matter. "RIP Nelson Mandela. Your 'I Have a Dream' speech was so inspiring. An amazing man," she "tweeted" after she learned of the passing of Nelson Mandela.
Clearly, Paris had confused the former South African president with the already dead, African-American civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. and the tweet dominated internet headlines. However, Paris turned the tables on her critics when it was revealed the tweet was fake.
Whoever made that stupid fake tweet lacks respect to the loss the world is mourning right now. Same goes for all the blogs who ran with it.— Paris Hilton (@ParisHilton) December 5, 2013
The President of South Africa Joseph Zuma released a statement earlier today confirming the rumors that Nelson Mandela, peace activist and the first black president of South Africa, has passed away. He was 95 years old.
World leaders, politicians, and other prominent people have expressed their admiration and condolences at the passing at one of the most influential figures of peaceful resistance in the 20th Century. Said British Prime Minister David Cameron via Twitter: "A great light has gone out in the world. Nelson Mandela was a hero of our time. I've asked for the flag at [Number] 10 [Downing] to be flown at half mast."
We here at joonbug have a deep appreciation for musicians who play at our parties. If it wasn’t for them, our parties would just be a bunch of people standing around staring at each other like a bad high school reunion. Who wants to party like that?
Nevertheless, we hold a special place on our website for people like O’neal Mcknight. Musician, stylist, and overall great person, O’neal is always ready to bring a positive attitude to everything he puts his mind to. His career is quickly rising to an astronomical level and I was privileged to conduct a follow-up to his Halloween interview to ask him questions about his thoughts on where he’s come from and what to expect for the coming year.
