Project 46 at Dream Highbar
Reporting by Michael Poselski
Project 46 and Digital Lab set the perfect pool party vibe with an intimate performance at the Highbar, located on the rooftop of the Dream Hotel. Highbar resembled an oasis with daybeds and palm trees surrounding the sparkling swimming pool. Twenty-four stories high, the location offered a breathtaking 360 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean and the electric cityscape of South Beach. The nearby ocean generated a cool tropical breeze that made the warmth of the humidity a delight.
Patrons relaxed poolside and sipped their favorite drinks as Digital Lab took to the turntables. The proclaimed ‘sound scientist’ manifested the chill pool-party groove with tracks like Daft Punk’s “909 Revolution” and Mark Knight’s “Your Love.” As the party started to heat up, he turned up the energy and got the crowd moving with bangers like A-Trak’s remix of “Heads Will Roll” and Swedish House Mafia’s “Leave the World Behind.” Canadian powerhouse duo, Project 46, took over seamlessly and transitioned into an even happier and uplifting mood dropping progressive house tracks like Avicii’s “We Are Your Friends” and their very own collab with Kaskade, “Last Chance.” The party reached its climax as the sun finally tore through the dark clouds and the attendees reveled in the intoxicating bliss of the atmosphere. This party epitomized what Miami Music Week is all about, it was truly a special experience to see DJ Mag Top 100 rated artists play a tailored set in such a pleasant and intimate environment.
It is only a few days before the parties start for Miami Music Week, and the excitement is almost too much to bear. And for a good reason too; MMW hosts a whole lot of pool parties, boat cruises, and exclusive shows featuring the best names in electronic dance music, ending in the three day musical masterpiece that is Ultra Music Festival. Of course, not everyone gets to attend all of these wonderful gathering, or any at all for that matter, which is why UMF Radio will be broadcasting live on SiriusXM radio all throughout Miami Music Week.
With a track like 'NaOH', which broke on to the top 10 of the Beatport Progressive House chart, and into the top 30 overall, a week after its release, Askery is a producer to watch out for. To show his fans some love for being so supportive of his music, and propelling him to such heights so quickly, the Swiss producer put together a 30 minute mix that perfectly captures who he is and what Askery is capable of.
Billboard had the chance to sit down with the Austrailian twin sisters, Mim and Liv, for a quick interview which revealed their future plans and their upcoming album. Always personable and super adorable, the sisters seemed excited to be present at Sundance 2014. Nervo was one of the featured musicians that performed at Park City Live, along with their colleague, Steve Aoki.
They revealed their monthly radio show with BBC Radio 1, Nervo Nation, where they can introduce their new tracks during the segment allowing for a more interactive show. Additionally, their new album is in its finishing touches and the sisters showed some apprehension on submitting their final edition of the album. Lastly, another collaboration with Steve Aoki is in the works for his album, so stay tuned for that. They've previously worked on a collaboration before with Afrojack on the track, 'We're All No One.'

Can you tell us about some of the parties/venues that shaped you as an artist and a performer?
Diego Camejo: The first venue I started DJing at consistently was Mokai. Being the resident here has taught me so much. Because it is a small boutique club, it is naturally a very intimate setting. It is a venue where people are not necessarily going to focus on the DJs performance; they’re their to have a good time, which makes it more difficult as a DJ to craft a set that gets people’s attention.
In a scene flooded with many young people who aspire to be the next Avicii or Dirty South, it is sometimes hard for those who are truly talented to stand out. When referring to the prodigy-esque DJ/producer Stereoshock, his productions have helped him become impossible to ignore. Only the tender age of 19, the young NYC local has been turning heads throughout the industry and it is very clear that he has no plans of stopping.
