Just in time for the holidays, Hotspot, a brand new and innovative social media application, is now available for download through the App Store! Hotspot offers a more genuine way of connecting with others. Unlike most social media apps, Hotspot isn’t about finding new friends; it’s about connecting with your current ones. Creators Jeff Ames and Jasjit Singh realized that the discovery of new people was not the issue in social communication, but rather the actual convening of these people as “friends” in reality. Hotspot allows users to locate and contact one another for any social event, whether it be for bar hopping or impromptu meet-ups. Unlike texting, this messaging service enables the user to send out one mass message regarding an event—what, where, and when, along with turn-by-turn directions and also who is going to be there or on the way. Even better, the app is not a closed service. This means that even your those without Hotspot will receive a text message providing a link to open all of the event information in their browsers.
This New Year's Eve, New York City is going to be popping with the hottest parties. These spots have hours of open bars, music from the best DJs, champagne toasts, amazing interiors, breathtaking views, and--if you're really lucky--celebrity sightings. Ditch the losers who will be huddled in the cold for hours for a glimpse of the ball drop. Start the new year off right at any one of these venues that will have plenty to drink, room to dance, and make memories that will last long after the party ends.
Dream Downtown: Located in the upscale Meatpacking District on 16th sreet, it is the perfect combination of modernity and luxury, with incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. An ideal spot to bring a date, where the two of you can gaze at the sparkling city as the old year falls away.

Ah, New Year's. A time for us all to decide which party to go to and which friends to party with. Should we head to NYC to watch the ball drop? Should we go skiing up in the mountains? House party with some close friends? The decisions are endless, as are the decisions on what to wear. Everybody wants to look glam, damnit, and it can be hard to know just how to pull off that special look. Well, we are here to help. Here are some options to make your decision-making a little more easy.
Make-Up: First and foremost, the right makeup on New Year's Eve is so important. No one wants their eyeliner to run or their lipstick to fade as the night goes on. Make sure you start with a primer to keep that make-up lasting into the wee hours of the night. We like Benefit's That Gal Brightening Face Primer ($29) so give those cheeks an extra glow. If you're going for a bold lip, there's nothing better for NYE than Susan Posnick's Coloressentials line ($19). The lipsticks come in fun, bright colors and is super moisturizing and shiny, plus it's very compact so can fit into the smallest clutch for touch-ups. Make those eyes pop with Lashfully's Lash Appeal Kit ($38). The kit contains two sets of eyelashes with adhesive and tweezers and will provide the most natural and lusciously long lashes for you to don. With the most essential make-up musts out of the way, it's time to move onto what to wear.
We're just about three weeks away from the close of 2012. NYE is the topic of all topics and it's a must to make sure your night is perfect. Vinny Guadagnino is the next Jersey Shore character to land his own show, this time in talk show form. The first cast member to score a non-reality opportunity, Guadagino's new show will allow him to interview guests inside his home and guests will also get to delight in meeting his one-of-a kind family like uncle Nino and his mother, Paula who famously cooks the Jersey Shore cast members large Italian feasts on the regular.
MTV released a statement, explaining their choice for choosing Vinny to have his own show. "Vinny's unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre busting take on the interview format," said Chris Linn, MTV Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Production. "As the lives of the 'Jersey Shore' cast evolve, we are excited to explore new ground while still delivering the laughs and surprises that fans have come to expect from the franchise."
