There may be a lot of controversy between the US and UK over the show SKINS making it's way on to MTV, but whether or not you like the show, you would have LOVED the party.
A secret location only revealed to RSVPers through signing up on the site, party kids from 16+ showed some skin for MTV at a warehouse party in Brooklyn this past Friday to celebrate the show's premiere.
Complete with all the essential rave supplies (IE rainbow facepaint and glow sticks), party goers caught performances by Rusko, Sleigh Bells, Klever, Drop The Line, and Kill The Noise, plus endless amounts of comp'd alcohol and dancing. The doors were tight as capacity was around 1000 and press obviously caught drift of the MTV sponsored event and snatched up most of the passes, but the party still raged on til late, late night with stars and it kids alike.
From Columbus, Ohio to the Big Apple, Zach is here to change the image of the typical promoter. I met Zach randomly (as I do most people) on a Saturday night at my favorite all night eatery Coffee Shop. And from my first experience partying with him at the Grand Opening of Amnesia on a frosty Winter night, I knew he was my type of guy. Zach keeps it real and is all about r-e-s-p-e-c-t having a good time.
Here's more about this Cowtwon native.
I know you all are wracking your brain trying to decide which of Joonbug's awesome Halloween parties to attend. Take a little break from all the Halloween madness and come support an amazing charity, the Orange Giraffe Project (OGP). OGP is dedictated to helping to improve the lives of those living with cancer and those touched by the cancer community through the creative outlet of jewelry making. Through this they seek to promote awareness of the arts and wellness. Every year the OGP hosts a design competition where creatives explore various methods of jewelry creation spanning from traditional jewelry making techniques to wearable art made of unconventional materials.
If you were going to dress up like food on Halloween, what food would you be?
I would dress up as a Peach, obviously, because I'm the "Georgia Peach, in the Big Apple!"
If you thought Jersey's ongoing presence in the media couldn't get any more paramount - think again. HBO's newest series, Boardwalk Empire, marks yet another show that encompasses tales of the Garden State. This prohibition-era program, however, pays homage to the Jersey Shore in a much classier - and less shameless - way than our favorite GTL'ers from MTV.
Scorsese fans and HBO enthusiasts alike tuned in to the premiere in late September, and were quickly enthralled by wardrobes as eye-catching and mesmerizing as the eerily nostalgic cinematography.
NYE party plans? Check. LBD? Check. Bedazzling eyes? Check - once you've watched Youtube sensation and beauty guru Michelle Phan's tutorial below, that is. In this episode, she dishes out her recipe for a gaze so glamorous that once you've locked eyes with that dreamboat across the bar, he won't be able to look away.
Sounds great, right? And it's super-easy, too. Phan always makes her various guises look like effortless (how does she do it without a mirror?!), but this look really is rather simple and only requires a few key products beyond what you most likely already have.
Unattractive object right? Hey, looks aren't everything. You'll be thrilled to have this when the awkward friend of the group wants to start karaoking at the adult New Year's party.
If karaoke is an every weekend kind of hobby for them than you might have an issue. Needless to say, don't think your friend will notice what kind of microphone it is if the drinks are flowing.
Just hand them this soundproof microphone and even the most tone deaf entertaining-ish person will bring in the new year with the perfect tune.
The crowd’s thunderous voices count down to midnight, everyone kisses, raises a glass and the singing starts. The lyrics and voices always start out strong for the first two lines but than the voices fade out as people become lost. Does anyone really now the rest of the lyrics for Auld Land Syne?
Blame it on to many cocktails before midnight or bad memory but the singing at the party is never like the movies. To fix the confusion, here are the lyrics. Good luck remembering them.
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?
Last night I joined Johnathan Cheban, founder of Command PR and star of the newest E! series The Spin Crowd, at Kiss & Fly. Kiss & Fly ranks high on the scale of exclusivity, nestled in the Meatpacking district with red carpet and velvet rope entrances.
Inside, there are 28 VIP tables and a huge bar and dance floor, all of which were perfectly packed for this reality star. I showed up around midnight to find Joonbug's newest friend Wilson Henriques at the door, leading in his group of VIPs ahead of a crowd of office types and girls in their highest heels and shortest hemlines.
