GET THE PARTY STARTED
Drink Up & Enjoy the Art!

We definitely love a good party, so this year my must-go party for Art Basel belongs to the Perrier-Jouet cocktail party hosted by none other than Soho House. It doesn't get any better than the Soho House in South Beach in the Tiki Garden.

The famed champagne brand has teamed up with Art Basel to become its official champgane for the festivities. A yummy tasting of Perrier-Jouet will be a delight as flutes will be dangling on the "Enchanting Tree". This feature will embrace the nature theme throughout Art Basel as well as enchant guests.

CELEB SPOTTINGS
Two Celeb-Studded Events

Celebrities aren't messing around - from the east coast to the west coast, our favorite stars know how to party. Here's what happened this past weekend:

Saturday night, our fave athlete-turned-actor, Shaquille O'Neal, attended the All Star Comedy Jam Holiday Celebration presented by C by Courvoisier. The celebration, which was held at the Club Arkadia at the Fountainebleau in Miami, marked the culmination of 2012's All Star Comedy Jam nationwide tour. Other celebs in attendence included comedians Finesse Mitchell, and Capone and Lavar Walker. Guests were treated to specialty C by Courvoisier cocktails.

LIQUID COURAGE
The "Blind Wine Chick"

Alex Elman Wines, first released in 2011 and now available in New York, offers “correctly made, honest, authentic, and organic wines that are approachable and affordable to the American consumer.” The wines are exceptional. They are selected based on easy drinkability, are easily paired with food, represent the lesser-known wine producing regions of the world, and most importantly, they’re made without harming our environment. The woman behind the wine is just as exceptional and awe-inspiring as the wines her brand offers to consumers.

HAPPENINGS
Sapphire Foundation Presents: Charity Poker & Golf Tournament

The Sapphire Foundation and Peter Feinster, the foundation's creator, will be hosting a charity poker and golf tournament at Sapphire New York and the New York Country Club, respectively, to raise money for prostate cancer. The Sapphire Foundation raises money for all aspects of prostate cancer: financial assistance for medical expenses, outreach and advocacy for getting tested, and support for prostate cancer survivors still burdened with continued health costs.

The poker tournament will take place Sunday, September 11th, and the golf tournament will take place the following day, Monday the 12th. The fundraiser first launched in Las Vegas, and after tremendous success out West, they've decided to come to the Big Apple to continue raising money for the second leading cause of cancer for males in the U.S.

BABYLON TENBRICK PROJECT
Champagne and Wine Suggestions for New Year's Eve Parties and Events

Consider yourself warned: bubble guts and long lavatory visits will be the consequence of negligent champagne and wine selections. Don't be a victim. Instead, on New Year's Day 2010 you should be feasting on black-eyed peas, watching football and maybe even sifting through some bills. The toast on New Year's Eve, which officially brings in the New Year, traditionally marks the unmitigated totality and culmination of the year as well as the climax of the evening. Therefore, mustn't we honor this occasion appropriately? For just this one night, abandon the Andre and ditch the Sutter Home, because tonight, your taste is held to a higher standard. Here are a couple new world suggestions to help guide you.
