Summer in the City: Theater Edition

New York City is known for its spectacular Broadway shows. But you can get equally stunning and entertaining shows without the hefty price tag and the hustle and bustle of the theatre district. Check out these must see off-Broadway shows!

The Flower Thief: Presented by Horse Trade Theater Group and The Fire This Time Festival, this play, written by Pia Wilson, is one to see. The story centers around Clark, who is grieving over the loss of his twin brother and is clinging to nature's promise of renewal. Clark turns to stealing flowers as everything else around him slowly wilts. This show, directed by Heidi Grumelot, will run August 2-19 at The Red Room at 8pm. Tickets are available here for $18.

5 Unique Events to Add to Your Summer To-Do List

Summer is all about having fun and that doesn't necessarily mean skipping out of town to the Hamptons. There's plenty of hot happenings going on right in your backyard. Whether you like taking in a good play, getting hot and heavy at a burlesque show, trying out great new foods, or just drinking all day long, there are plenty of options in NYC for you!

Symphony of Shadows: A Tale from the Land Beyond the Veil- Rachel Klein Productions and Dixon Place are presenting the world premiere of this creepy tale. This show tells the story of a woman combating "a variety of sleep disorders, phantasmagorical night terrors, hypnotic horrors, and other, visually stunning conjurings from the subconscious depths of her own disturbed mind." The show combines elements of circus and aerial arts, dance, movement, burlesque, and operatic productions to vividly illustrate its storyline. Nothin' Wrong with a Little Theater: 4 Must-See Shows

April 7th, 8pm & 10:30pm

Gotham Burlesque is celebrating their one year anniversary at The Triad Theater, offering two shows in one night! Mr. Exotic World TIGGER! will headline the celebration and he will be joined by the world's fastest and most accurate knife thrower, The Great Throwdini, the Tapping Tornado, Helen Pontani, Minnie Tonka, Justina Flash, Boobess, Shelly Watson, just to name a few. The show will be hosted by Sweetie . Tickets are $45 for premium seating for $35 for general seating and can be purchased here.
