Electric Zoo makes its triumphant return to its original location, NYC's Randall’s Island Park this Labor Day Weekend (August 30-September 1st) for three days of the world's best in electronic music. To celebrate E Zoo’s fifth anniversary there will be two main stages on expanded festival grounds—which can only mean more confetti, more music, and more fun. The two stages, designated Main Stage West and Main Stage East, will have headliners such as Avicii, Knife Party, Dada Life, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, and Laidback Luke and others yet to be announced. This year there will be a total of five stages in addition to the two main stages for all you zoo animals out there to choose from.
The inaugural Catalpa Festival, a truly unique musical experience, hits Randall's Island July 28th and 29th. There will be plenty of emphasis on site artistry, interactive experiences, and experimentation --not to mention over 40 performers! Musical genres are diverse, including blues, rock, hip hop, electronic, reggae, and indie. There will be art installations, bespoke event structures, and more.
Artists include, The Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, Asap Rocky, AraabMuzik, Zola Jesus, Girl Talk, Cold War Kids, Matisyahu, Felix da Housecat, City and Colour, The Sheepdogs, Hook 'n' Sling, My Pet Dragon, just to name a handful.
What are you doing July 28-29th from 1pm to 11pm that is more exciting than seeing huge acts like The Black Keys and Snoop Dogg, chowing down on culinary masterpieces and partaking in something that shoots out 30ft fire balls as DJs take over from within? Nothing.
Taking place on Randall's Island, Catalpa's full lineup is yet to be announced but is already touting acts like TV on The Radio, aforementioned Black Keys and Snoop Dogg, City and Colour, The Big Pink, AraabMuzik, Felix Da Housecat, Fort Atlantic and more. When festival goers aren't rocking out to great music, they can check out an array of attractions; and even those are unique.
And awesome music aside, what's making Electric Zoo even more hip is that the festival is instituting a set of green initiatives in an effort to be more environmentally conscious.
The Electric Zoo Music Festival is plugging into Randall's Island for a two-day, 24-hour party with an expected crowd of over 25,000 throughout the weekend. The line-up includes some heavy-hitters such as the Chemical Brothers, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Major Lazer, Fake Blood, and Steve Aoki.
This open-air music festival is buzzing more and more this year, and especially with each day leading up to the event. It will feature an unprecedented line-up of over 70+ artists across four stages, covering all genres: House, Techno, Trance, Electro, and Indie, including DJs.
