We first saw New World Punx opening for Armin van Buuren at their debut arena show: A State Of Trance 600 at Madison Square Garden (listen here). Composed of trance titans Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz, the duo began collaborating after playing some back-to-back sets at previous shows. When we heard they were on tour, this time as headliners, we leapt at the chance to witness their wizardry once again, this time at the historic (and, unfortunately, soon-to-be-closing) Roseland Ballroom. The show took place this past Saturday, November 23, and featured an incredible four hour set of lush sonic textures, soaring angelic vocals, and hard throbbing beats delivered straight to our eardrums from the power pair.
Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, the talented duo known as Big Gigantic is coming to New York City for back-to-back performances at Roseland Ballroom, and we will be there on December 30th! The event is a continuation of their Sky High Tour, which they began earlier in September.
Big Gigantic is notorious for their live stage performances that incorporate saxophone by producer Dominic Lalli and drums by Jeremy Salken. With festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Ultra Music Festival under their belts, this duo is coming at you like a whirlwind with exciting livetronica and filthy beats.
Lady Gaga is a New Yorker, and as many others deal with the reality of the impending closure of the iconic Roseland Ballroom, Gaga is planning on closing it out the right way. Beginning on March 28, Gaga will host four shows at the venue, which is a dramatic shift from her usual Arena show, but will be a great chance for fans to get an intimate show from the pop star. Tickets will range from $50 to $200, and buyers will receive a commemorative upon arrival. The tickets will be available in waves, as members of Gaga's LittleMonters.com get the first batch via random selection on Nov. 21, followed by Citi credit card holders via Citi's Private Pass Program on Nov. 22. General admission tickets go on sale on Monday, November 25 via Ticketmaster at 10am.
One of New York's most iconic music venues, Roseland Ballroom, will be closing its doors this April. No official announcement has been made yet, but an internal email between Live Nation and owner Larry Ginsberg. has been found by Billboard that speaks about Roseland's upcoming closing.
Roseland first opened as a "whites only" ballroom dancing club in 1919, since the music hall has been home to jazz, disco, rock and roll and more recently EDM. Roseland Ballroom has seen so many iconic music acts grace its stage. Everyone from Ella Fitzgerald to Nirvana to The Rolling Stones and Beyonce have performed at this famed music venue.
If the news about Roseland Ballroom's closing is true we are all very sad to see it go. Hopefully some amazing music acts can rock its stage for one last final goodbye!

Starchildren, rejoice! Joonbug recently had the honor of sitting down with none other than trance vocal legend JES before her set with ATB this past Saturday night at The Roseland Ballroom. JES, who has been involved in the scene for over a decade and has worked with fellow superstars such as Tiesto and Cosmic Gate, opened up to us about her musical style, influences, and more:
You had better "step off the line and learn how to dance," because the one and only ATB is coming to NYC! ATB will perform live in concert at Roseland Ballroom this coming Saturday, October 12th. The show, presented by Insomniac, will be one of only four US stops on his tour, and is promised to be:
With a brand new year ahead, Josh Cohen, better known as Stereoshock, has jumped into 2013 with a pretty solid landing so far. Just releasing his remix of NERVO and Hook N Sling's "Reason," the young producer is only continuing to prove he's serious about his work and has no intentions of slowing down. With that said, we here at Joonbug are proud to host Episode # 44 of Electric Nightlife, Cohen's podcast show that began just one year ago and has since received major playtime around the world as well as special guests such as Sandro Silva, Starkillers, and W&W.
