How I Live Now: Review

The film begins with Daisy, played by Saoirse Ronan, arriving from New York City to visit her cousins in the English country side. At first, Daisy is uninterested in getting to know her cousins and is unhappy with her living situation. Her demeanor begins to change when she starts to fall in love with her oldest cousin Eddie (George MacKay). Just as Daisy is finally starting to bond with her cousins, a war is escalating around them and they are torn apart. Daisy and her younger cousin Piper (Harley Bird) are taken away to live with a new family and put to work in a labor camp--it is unknown what happens to Eddie and her younger cousin Isaac (Tom Holland). Determined to make it back home and reunite with the boys, Daisy makes a plan to escape with Piper. The only way for the girls to get home though is to walk which takes them days to do. Along the way they see some of the destruction that the war has caused.

Another Book Hits the Big Screen

Patti Smith, the Bohemian Queen, is adapting her memoir, Just Kids for the big screen. The book was released two-years ago and there’s been nothing but buzz about the roles of Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe (Smith’s partner) since the project was first announced.

Apparently, Ms. Smith has a pair of leads in mind and her choices might just surprise you – Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. But, don’t judge, her reasoning is pretty spot on. Stewart is "not conventionally beautiful," and Pattinson is "a bit shy, and a bit stoic."

So, who else is in the running? She mentions Mia Wasikowska, and even suggests Saoirse Ronan. As for Mapplethorpe, we think James Franco could be a sweet match.
