With Fashion Week in full swing, we already feel like we’ve had a three-day weekend! Kicking off our weekend party scene, Scoop NYC transformed into a neon black-lit party for the Hudson Phosphorescent Invasion. If fluorescent denim and glowsticks is you thing—Friday’s event, hosted by DJ/model Leigh Lezark, was the place to be. DJ Harley Viera Newton spun the perfect electric pop set to keep the party as energetic as it’s brightly hued color scheme. An eclectic mix of stylish fashionistas and their savvy counterparts filled the retail space, congregating around the Double Cross Vodka sponsored bar, of course. Although the beats were bumpin, the Hudson party was all about socializing.
Tis the season to collaborate? Designers with designers. Designers with retailers. And designers with designers with retailers, as is the case with American greats Richard Chai who designed a collection for Original Penguin that will be available in Scoop Men's stores this fall/winter. To officially debut the collection, Scoop threw a launch party last night at its West Village men's location
Autumn colored berried branches and white votive candles decorated the cash wrap station. Surrounding attendees snacked on sliders, sipped Russian Standard vodka cocktails out of copper colored mugs, and cheerily chatted over the uptempo musical selections of DJ Terry Urban. Off side, the collection was visible among browsers casually inspecting pieces, like the plaid quilted puff peacoat and grey dress pants , for texture, construction, and sizes.

Throngs of people, bubbly popped and flowing, plastic swiped left and right--sound familiar? It should if you witnessed last night’s beautiful madness, and judging by the sheer amount of style conscious consumers, we are betting you did. With so many exciting events to choose from and industry celebrities to spot, we cursed the laws of physics for limiting our corporeal forms to only one place at a time! Here were our picks for the hottest spots of the night.
A top priority on our list, Manolo Blahnik was our first stop, and we were not the only ones with the idea! Shoe lovers and Sex in the City fans alike (who are we kidding, they are one and the same) lined the block all the way to 6th avenue for a potential moment with Ms. Manolo herself, Sarah Jessica Parker. Fighting the paparazzi was not an easy feat to catch a glimpse of SJP as she arrived, looking as chic as ever (seriously, the woman drinks from the fountain of youth) in a leather, laser-cut frock by Prabal Gurung and white, pointed-toe Manolos, of course. Sarah Jessica sat in the back of the store graciously signing autographs and shoes from the collection she co-designed with Manolo Blahnik. We also spotted Andre Leon Talley at the event sporting his signature caftan. Inside the store, guests tried on as many Manolos as their hearts desired amidst offerings of hors d’oeuvres and champagne by Il Gattopardo.

I hate saying "I told you so" (not really), but I did predict that Bravo's The Fashion Show would be somewhat of a disaster. It is unknown if The Fashion Show will come back for a second season, and if it doesn't Bravo has already began advertising for its newest fashion creative competition series, Launch My Line. The show will feature 10 established fashion designers, who have always dreamt of having their own clothing line, and paired them with 10 industry professionals, who are highly regarded in their own field of expertise. The industry professionals will work with the established designers to bring their vision to life and create a fashion line. In the end, one team will be declared the winner and someone's clothing line will be launched. Twin brothers and acclaimed designers, Dean and Dan Caten of DSQUARED2, will host Launch My Line. Stefani Greenfield, co-owner of Scoop NYC and Lisa Kline, owner of Lisa Kline will serve as judges.
