Calling all booze hounds! Brooklyn Shaken & Stirred is going down October 2nd from 6-9pm at The Green Building. For one night only, Brooklyn cocktail bars and restaurants come together for a night of eats and libations. Sharon Beason, founder of BrooklynExposed.com and Tasting Brooklyn, is the mastermind behind this cocktail-infused evening that features cocktails made with small-batch liquors, boutique local wines and beers, accompanied with small bites.
Both new and old cocktail spots will be serving their signature drinks, including Maison Premiere, Pok Pok, and Sunburnt Calf. Local liquors include Brooklyn Gin, Six Point Brewery, and Brooklyn Republic Vodka. There will also be plenty of artisanal liquors including Templeton Rye, Tenneyson Absinthe Roale, and White Pike Whiskey. And if you're a wine lover, you won't be left out! Local wineries include Brooklyn Oenology and Brooklyn Winery.
The bimonthly dinner series, Tasting Brooklyn Dining Club, is having its Italian Classics with a Modern Reinterpretation tonight at Fornino Park Slope at 7pm. Diners will be welcomed with a housemade blueberry limoncello (who doesn't like limoncello?), accompanied by appetizers. Following this happy hour will be a five course sit-down dinner featuring duck rollatini paired with Insolia 2010 Cusumano, Sicily, among other delicious items. Dinner will be led by co-owners Chris Walsh and Dave Kearns, along with Executive Chef Kurt Eggers, who will be discussing the seasonal approach to modern Italian cuisine.
